NSIC Athletes of the Week

NSIC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Emi Trost (Distance, Jr., Goodhue, Minn. / Cannon Falls HS)
Minnesota Duluth

- Won the 800-meter run in an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 2:08.77 (adjusted) at the U of M Parent's Day Open
- The time ranks as the fourth best time in DII this season
- Joined forces with Breanna Colbenson, Allie Stalboerger and Elizabeth Kyes to claim the distance medley relay title in a meet-record time of 11:44.37, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying time
- Named NSIC Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth week this season (12/6/16, 1/24/17 & 1/31/17)

NSIC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Kaitlyn Long (Jr., Throws, Cottage Grove, Wis. / Monona Grove HS)
Winona State
- Took first place in the weight throw at the Wisconsin Shell Shocker
- The mark on Friday was 72-6.25 and ranks as the longest throw in Division II this season
- Improved in the shot put as well on Friday and now ranks 14th in the country this season
- Named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season (12/6/16 & 2/14/17)

- Carina Hofmeister finished 2nd in the 200-meters at the Birdman Open with a provisionally qualifying time of 25.16
- Irena Almarcha finished with a provisionally qualifying time of 8.82 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Birdman Open
- Leah Seivert took 1st in the 3,000-meters with a time of 10:12.93
- Ashley Solano finished 1st in the 600-meters with a personal best time of 1:42.65

- Alex Coleman posted a pair of PRs at the Beaver Twilight. She jumped to 18th in the NSIC with a 17-9.5 in the long jump before posting a 1:00.1 in the 400-meter run. She placed second in both events
- Freshman Jada Barker finished third in the 60-meter dash, clocking a season-best 7.95 seconds
Team Notes
- Jada Barker opened the Beaver Twilight running events qualifying for the finals in the 60-meter dash with a season-best 7.98 seconds only to better her time in the finals, placing second with a 7.95
- Coleman trimmed nearly a second from her 400-meter time, clocking a 1:00.10 to finish second. In addition, she also placed second in the long jump, clearing 17 feet, 9.5 inches
- Fresh off a school record in the mile run a week ago, Lopez set her sights on another in the 1,000-meter run.  While she finished just off school-record time, she posted a personal-best 3:05.91 in the event
- In addition, Sarone Paulzine placed third in the mile run (6:08.86), Marissa Morgenstern placed third in the 60-meter hurdles, turning in a personal-record 10.82 seconds in the preliminary round, Madison Kealy established a personal-best 2:34.67 to finish third in the 800-meter run, Jane Austin was second in the 3,000-meter run (12:05.00) and Savanah Olson was fourth in the shot put (39-02.25)

- Gretchen Feilen took advantage of the final tune-up before the conference championships as she finished in the top-5 in both the high jump and pole vault
- Gloria Williams chipped in another solid finish as she took fourth in the 200 meter dash. Williams finished with a time of 26.36 seconds, putting her 0.69 second behind the leader

- Jr. Tonie-Ann Pandohie posted a pair of NCAA provision qualifying marks on Saturday. The junior All-American won the 60 meter hurdles in a scintillating time of 8.46 seconds, the third best clocking in the country
- Pandohie followed up by running the 400 meter leg on the Marauders Distance Medley Relay team. Teaming with Kate Fox, Jaiden Schuette and Alexis Zeis, the quartet combined for a time of 11:38.09. The 6th-best time in the country, it is a provisional qualifying mark
- Maria Bolibruch's provisional qualifying time in the 60 meter hurdles of 8.59 seconds placed her second behind Pandohie at the meet and ranks her ninth in the nation
- Tanesha Davis captured the 60 meter dash in a provisional qualifying time of 7.62 seconds
- The 600 meter run was won by Nelecia Richards with a time of 1:35.39
- Emma Hafdahl captured the 3,000 meter run with a clocking of 10:39.32
- Headlining the Marauders efforts in the field events was Kylie Pastian who won the long jump with a top effort of 17-7.75
- Winning a second relay the of the day, the foursome of Bolibruch, Richards, Sommer Haugrud and Julia Hammerschmidt placed first in the 4 x400 meter relay with a mark of 3:54.04

- Marauders rank 5th nationally in the latest USTFCCCA poll
- Mary recorded four provisional marks and picked up seven wins at the UND Tune Up

- Altoniece Williams finished first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.44, a provisional qualifying mark as well as tying the best time of the season recorded in Division II
- In the 800-meter run Haley Kruger improved her time to 2:12.94 which is a provisional qualifying mark, and with national conversions applied the time was reduced to 2:11.43 which is the 14th best mark in Division II this season

- Senior Alissa Mears won the 800 in 2:12.08 (adjusted for track size), which is an NCAA provisional qualifying time
- Junior Caroilne Jansen won three events on Friday: Long jump, triple jump and 60-meter hurdles
- Sophomore Kiarah Johnson won the 60-meter dash and 200
- Alicia Swenson, Samantha Swenson, Mary-Bianca Fuller, Emily Waletzko and Jenna Ellertson also picked up wins

- Randii Widmer finished sixth in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 34-feet-3

- Hanneke Oosterwegel broke her own school record again in the 200m dash, finishing second overall with a time of 24.62
- Oosterwegel also won the 400m dash, with a time of 55.53. She ran both races from the Nebraska Tune-up
- Toni-Ann Ingram finished third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.96. She was the top Division II finisher in the race beating two conference opponents from Augustana in fourth and fifth. Ingram also placed second in the 200m dash, with a time of 25.90
- Freshman Madison Barnes won the women's 400m dash, with a time of 58.69
- Mackenzie Cruzen and Andrea Korvela ran to second and third place finishes in the 600m run, with times of 1:43.23 and 1:46.40
Team Notes
- From the SDSU Last Chance meet the Northern State women tallied 17 top-10 finishes including first place marks
- The 4x400m relay team of Wynn, Engebretson, Korvela, and Espeland finished with a time of 4:32.58 in second place

- Courtney Crandall broke her own USF record and hit another NCAA automatic qualifying mark with a 4.26-meter (13-11.75) clearance to win the SDSU Last Chance title
- Crandall’s mark ranks 10th all-time in Division II and she is the fifth-highest individual in D2 history in the women’s pole vault
- Hannah Linder recorded the 11th-highest women’s pole vault this season, taking second
- Sarah Troescher broke her own USF record with a 7.77-second time in the 60-meter dash
- Jada Carr won the MSU Birdman Open long jump with a provisional 5.69-meter (18-8.00) leap

- Highlights of the day include senior Rylee Armstrong completing the trifecta—winning the long jump, triple jump and high jump
- She recorded a mark of 5.09m in the long jump, 11.12m in the triple jump and 1.60m in the high jump
- Freshman Kayla Jansky also earned a big victory, winning the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.23
- Sophomore  Angela Prokosch also had a big day, crushing her own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 15.90m
- Samantha McNeel also notched a school record in the 60 meters, crossing the line in 9.83

- Winona State had five first place finishes and earned an overall second place finish at the Shell Shocker in Madison in Friday
- The team scored 135 points and was second only to Wisconsin, beating out Division I teams Marquette and Northern Iowa
Individual Notes
- Kaitlyn Long took first once again in the weight throw; her mark on Friday was 22.10 meters/72-6.25
- It puts Long into first place in the nation following her throw
- Long improved in the shot put as well on Friday and now ranks 14th in the country
- Hailey Deschaine won the long jump with a mark of 5.76 meters, she now ranks 21st in the country after breaking a school record
- Alexandra Hutchison won the 200-meters in a time of 25.85 seconds
- The Warriors went one, two and three in the 400-meters, led by Brittany Schyvinck who won the race in a time of 58.28 seconds. Ali Skluzacek was second and Johnna Patterson was third
- Anna Rogahn took home first in the 800-meters with a time of 2:20.28. Her teammate Amanda Kaiser finished third in a time of 2:20.95
- Heather Buckler is now ranked eighth nationally in the shot put after her toss of 49'5'' feet / 15.06 meters on Friday. Third best throw in program history
- Tamika Tucker ran second in the 60-meters with a time 7.74 seconds. It was a season best for Tucker
