Minnesota State leads after day one of NSIC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships

ST. PAUL, Minn.  – Seven events are complete and one NSIC record fell after day one of the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championship held at Sea Foam Stadium, hosted by Concordia University, St. Paul.  
 
Josh Barrows of Augustana ran a 52.58 in the 400m hurdle prelims to break the 2010 record of 52.60 set by Northern State’s Jake Hamik.
 
In the team standings, five-time defending champions of Minnesota State lead with 88 points, while Sioux Falls is second with 55 points while Wayne State is third with 27 points. 

The top three finishers in each event and the top two relay teams are named to the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference team. NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Athletes and Coach of the Year will be announced next week at NorthernSun.org.

The NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championship resumes Saturday morning at 11 a.m. with field events followed by track finals beginning at 1 p.m.
