NSIC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Nicolette Schmidt (So., Redfield, S.D. / Redfield HS)
Augustana
- Finished 10th out of more than 400 runners at the
Lewis Crossover
- Her time of 23:04.01 on the 6K course marked the top finish for the Vikings
- Led the Vikings to a second place team finish in a field of 36 teams
- A first-team all-NSIC performer from 2018, has finished 17th (Twilight) and 11th (Griak) this season
Other Top Performances
Ryne Prigge (BSU) finished eighth among 155 runners at the
2019 Disney Cross Country Classic; Ran a personal best 18:59.1 in the 5K race; has led BSU in all three of its meets in 2019.
Kara Lindberg’s (CSP) third place finish at the
Trent Smith Invitational is the highest individual place finish by a CSP female cross country runner since Maggie Marcus finished 3rd at the 2013 St. Cloud State Dual Meet; Sets a new CSP record for the NIACC course (18:54.3). Ran the 4th faster 5K race in school history and the 2nd fastest 5K race by a junior; now holds 2 of the 4 fastest 5K races in school history.
Allyssa Reeves (MSU) paced Minnesota State again, with her 1st-place finish at the
Trent Smith Invitational. Reeves turned in a time of 18:48 on the 5K course in leading Minnesota State to a first-place finish out of 22 teams in the team standings; Reeves has been Minnesota State's top individual at all four competition it's competed in this year.
