DULUTH, Minn. – Minnesota State won its eighth straight NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships behind an impressive performance at Malosky Stadium in Duluth, Minnesota. The Mavericks, which have won ten of the last 11 titles, scored 219 points to finish 101 points ahead of second place UMary.   MSU set or tied two records at this year’s championship, both coming on Saturday.

The University of Mary’s Luxon Glor was named the NSIC High Point Performer for the Championship for the second season in a row.  Glor won the 100m dash, 200m dash and the long jump and was part of the 4X100 meter relay time that finished second. 
MSU set the record in the 3000m steeplechase as Austin Paasch ran of a time of 8:57.74 to break the 2015 mark of 9:00.09 ran by Augie’s Adam Braun.

Myles Hunter also tied his 2015 record in the 110m hurdles with his time of 13.80.   
The top three finishers in each event and the top two relay teams are named to the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference team. NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Athletes and Coach of the Year will be announced next week at NorthernSun.org.
 
The 2019 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 23-25 at the Javelina Stadium in Kingsville, Texas. The entire field for the NCAA Championships will be announced on Tuesday, May 13 on NCAA.com.
