DULUTH, Minn. – The University of Mary repeated as NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Champions behind an impressive performance at Malosky Stadium in Duluth, Minnesota. The Marauders amassed 202.5 points to win by 102.5 points over second place Minnesota State. This marks the Marauders second straight NSIC Outdoor Women’s title and ninth since joining the NSIC. One record was broken on Saturday at the NSIC Championships.
Danielle Kohlwey, running on her home track for the first time in her career set the record in the 100m hurdles with her time of 13:40, eclipsing the 2017 mark of 13.42 ran by UMary’s Toni Pandohie. Kohlwey also won the 200m dash and was part of the third place 4X400 relay team as she scored 21 points to tied with D’Andra Morris of UMary for the meet’s high point performer. Morris won the high jump was second in the triple jump and was sixth in the long jump.
The top three finishers in each event and the top two relay teams are named to the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference team. NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Athletes and Coach of the Year will be announced next week at NorthernSun.org.
The 2019 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 23-25 at the Javelina Stadium in Kingsville, Texas. The entire field for the NCAA Championships will be announced on Tuesday, May 13 on NCAA.com.
