NSIC Men’s Field Athlete of the Year
Tyl Woelber (Heptathlon, So., Pipestone, Minn. / Pipestone Area HS)
Augustana
- High Point Performer at NSIC Championships with 34 points
- Won the heptathlon with a NSIC record and NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 5,357 points
- Was All-NSIC in the triple jump and long jump, finishing second in both
- Was fourth in the high jump and sixth in the 60m hurdles at NSIC Championships
- Set school records in the heptathlon, high jump and triple jump this season
- Qualified for nationals in both the heptathlon and high jump
NSIC Men’s Track Athlete of the Year
Benjamin Allen (Distance, Sr., North St. Paul, Minn. / North St. Paul HS)
Concordia-St. Paul
- Won the 1000m (2:27.98) and mile (4:16.17) at NSIC Championships
- Anchored the DMR (4th) and 4x400m (6th) at NSIC Championships
- Earned NSIC Track Athlete of the Week four times this season
- Ranked 12th in the nation in both the mile and 800m
- Broke his own school record in the 800m and mile this season
- Selected to compete at the NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field Championships in the mile
NSIC Men’s Newcomer of the Year
Shyrone Kemp (Jumps, So., Jones Town, Bahamas / Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy)
MSU Moorhead
- Won the triple jump at the NSIC Championships with a provisional leap of 49-2.25 (14.99m)
- Earned All-NSIC honors in three events placing third in the long jump and high jump
- Scored 22 points at the NSIC Championships
- Ranks ninth in the nation in the triple jump, 18th in high jump and 37th in long jump
NSIC Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year
Chris Parno - Minnesota State
- Coached sprints/hurdles/relays that scored 116 team points at NSIC Championships
- Coached athletes that won the 60m, 400m, 600m, 60h, 4x400m at NSIC Championships
- Highest scoring sprints group with 67 points
- Coached six athletes that qualified for the national championships
- Named NSIC Assistant Coach of the Year for the season year in a row
NSIC Men’s Coach of the Year
Mike Turgeon - Minnesota State
- Led the MSU to its ninth consecutive NSIC Indoor Championship in his third year with the program
- Coached seven conference champions plus one relay team
- Coached 22 student-athletes that earned all-conference honors (top three)
- Coached five student-athletes and a relay team that will compete at NCAA Championships
All-Conference performers consist of the top three place winners in each event and the members of the top two relay teams from the conference meet.
