Storms is a junior from Becker, Minnesota and a graduate of Becker High School. She holds a 4.0 grade point average as she majors in psychology, criminal justice & political science at BSU. She is a two-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence award winner for outdoor track & field.  Storms ranks eighth all-time at BSU in the indoor mile (300m track) and was part of the 4X1600 meter relay team that set a new Bemidji State indoor track record in 2018-19.

“Allyna is a tough student athlete who accepts challenges head on. With her involvement in the military, her academic excellence, and her commitments to our track & field and cross country programs, Allyna demonstrates her attention to detail through her direct leadership style.  When working with the others on our team, we looked to Allyna as our enforcer and protector of the other ladies when dealing with outside situations. Our team counted on Allyna to sacrifice physically and  to get it done during our biggest races.  We have been blessed here at Bemidji State with her consistent cheer and friend first nature empowering the growth and  success of the overall program. Storms defines intensity with everything she earns when it comes to running and life,” states BSU's Head Coach Track & Field Kevin Kean.

As part of the NSIC 25th Anniversary celebration during the 2016-17 academic year, the NSIC Elite 18 Award was instituted to recognize the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the NSIC Championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The NSIC Elite 18 award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NSIC’s 18 Championships.
