NSIC Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Nadir Yusuf (Distance, Sr., Willmar, Minn. / Willmar HS)
MSU Moorhead
- Won the 3000m run at the
Bison Cup Classic as he defeated several Division I foes
- Ran a time 8:28.01, narrowly missing NCAA provisional time
- His converted time of 8:22.95 ranks 10th in NCAA Division II this season

Tanner Berg (Throws, Sr., Watertown, S.D. / Watertown HS)
Northern State
- Opened his season winning the weight throw 66-8.75 (20.34m) and shot put 52-10.75 (16.12m) in a dual versus
Jamestown
- Earned the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week award following his weekend at UJ
- Improved his weight mark at the
Marauder Open, throwing an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 69-9.75 (21.28m)
- He threw two auto-qualifying marks in his series at UMary
- Currently ranks first in the nation in the weight throw and 14th in the shot put.
Other Top Track Performances
Melik Davis (AUGIE) won the 200m at the WSC Classic last weekend in a time of 23.84. The meet was the first of the freshman’s career.
Jesse Kaas (UMary) set a University of Mary Fieldhouse facility record in the mile run. He clocked a time of 4:24.31 to win the event in the Marauders first competition in nearly 11 months. He won the race by over 24 seconds.
Trestin Mancillas-Finnerty (MINOT) ran the second fastest time in Division II in the 1000m this weekend and won the race at UMary. It was also the second fastest time in Minot State D2-era history with a time of 2:36.27.
Jackson Harrison (NSU) recorded back-to-back distance wins in the 3000m at the Jamestown Dual and Marauder Open. He tallied a personal best and facility of 8:43.98 at UMary winning the event. He ranks in the top-25 nationally in the 3000m.
Other Top Field Performances
Tyl Woelber (AUGIE) tied for first in the high jump at the WSC Classic and also garnered a new PR in the pole vault at 13-7.25.
Chris Cook (MSUM) won high jump at Bison Cup Classic, beating several Division I foes. His winning jump was 6-6.75.
Leif Nelson (MINOT) broke the D2 era school record in the high jump last weekend. He won the event at UMary clearing a height of 1.93 m (6-4).
Cade Kalkowski (WSC) won the weight throw at WSC Indoor Invite with an NCAA provisional mark of 66-3, which currently sits fifth in NCAA Division II.
