NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#18 Angela Young (OH, 6-1, Sr., Conde, S.D. / Clark HS) - SMSU
- Recorded 43 kills in wins over MSU and No. 5 CSP
- Led the NSIC with 6.14 kills per set last weekend
- Hit .392 with 43 kills on 79 attempts
- Tied a career high with 26 kills against No. 5 Concordia-St. Paul
- Hit .404 with a pair of aces in the victory over CSP
- Collected 19 digs over the weekend
NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#5 Sydney Lanouw (L, 5-9, Sr., Tracy, Minn. / Tracy-Milroy-Balaton HS) - Minnesota Duluth
- Recorded an NSIC high 7.0 digs per set over the weekend
- Had 35 in a sweep of MSU Moorhead to set the UMD record for digs in a 3 set match
- The 35 digs is also tied a Division II season high for a 3 set match
- Added 14 digs in a 3-1 win at Northern State
- Had 10 assists as well on the weekend
NSIC Setter of the Week
#14 Maddy Torve (S, 5-11, R-Sr., Loretto, Minn. / Heritage Christian Academy) - St. Cloud State
- Led the Huskies to a 2-0 weekend in NSIC play by averaging 12.11 assists/set
- Piloted St. Cloud State to a .288 team hitting percentage, including a .315 mark against MSUM
- Tallied 58 assists in the five-set win over Northern State & added 51 in the win over MSUM
- Currently ranks top-5 in the nation in both assists and assists/set
- Named NSIC Setter of the Week for the third time this season (9/7/21 & 9/27/21)

OFFENSE
#8 Jasmine Mulvihill (CSP) tallied 30 kills (4.29 per set) while hitting .205 on the weekend. She added 9.0 blocks (1.29 per set) and 10 digs (1.43 per set) in the two matches. She finished with 18 kills, 7.0 blocks and three aces in the sweep of USF. She reached double figures in kills in both matches, a mark she has reached in 18 of 22 matches on the year.
#2 Nehkyah Ellis (UMary) helped lead the Marauders to a weekend sweep over Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston. She had 19 kills on a .485 hitting percentage and 7 digs against BSU. She had a double-double with 16 kills and 13 digs against UMC.
#14 Amanda Carlson (MSUM) had 31 kills in two matches including eight kills in 3-set loss to UMD. She had 23 kills and hit .288 in a four-set loss to No. 13 St. Cloud State.
#16 Roxy King (MINOT) matched her career-high with 12 kills in the Beavers’ first win of the fall Friday, and added a co-team-high 7 kills Saturday.
#8 Kenzie Foley (SCSU) helped the Huskies to another 2-0 weekend in NSIC play by averaging 4.89 kills and 2.89 digs per set. She hit .333 on the weekend with 44 total kills on 87 swings. She tallied double-doubles in both the win over (RV) Northern State and MSU Moorhead. She had a career-high 27 kills and added 12 digs in the five-set win over (RV) Northern State. She hit .457 in the match as a six rotation outside. She added 17 kills and 14 digs in the win over MSU Moorhead. Her 27 kill performance against Northern State ranks sixth all-time in single-match kills. She has recorded double-digit kills in 16 matches for the Huskies this season and has put together four 20+ kill performances.
#21 Jordan Kuper (USF) had 24 kills on 42 attacks and hit .429 to lead USF to a 1-1 record this weekend at home against No. 5 Concordia St. Paul and Minnesota State. She also had two digs, nine block assists and 28.5 points (4.75/set). With 24 kills, she averaged 4.0 kills per set from the middle. In a 3-0 win over MSU, she had 14 In a 3-0 win against MSU, she had 14 kills on 24 attacks and hit .458. She had 10 kills on 18 attacks and hit .389 in the 3-0 loss to No. 5 CSP. She has nine double digit kills matches with four times of 14 or more. He has 186 kills with a .389 hitting mark for the year.
#8 Megan Flom (WSU) recorded a game-high 21 kills at Augustana and another game-high 24 kills at Wayne State. She averaged 5.00 kills per set. and had a hitting percentage of .470 for the weekend. She also recorded eight block assists in each match. She helped lead Winona State to wins on the road at Augustana and No. 8 Wayne State.
DEFENSE
#3 Alexandra Koontz (MINOT) had a career-high 12 digs against Bemidji State on Friday while also adding six kills, and had 6 digs and six more kills Friday in the Beavers’ first win of the fall.
#7 Payton Hjerleid (SMSU) collected 31 digs in a pair of victories over the weekend. She helped limit Minnesota State to a season-low .067 hitting percentage. She helped hold the No. 5 ranked Golden Bears to their lowest set total (11) since 2017.
#4 Linsey Rachel (SCSU) led the Huskies to a 2-0 weekend in NSIC play by averaging 3.56 kills and 3.67 digs/set. She tallied 33 digs and 32 kills over the weekend while hitting .313 from the outside. She recorded a season-high 24 digs in the five-set win over (RV) Northern State and added 18 kills, two aces and a block in the win. She hit .355 against MSU Moorhead with 14 kills and nine digs in the four-set win. She is one of the highest ranking non-liberos in the NSIC and digs and digs/set this season.
#10 Becca Pagel (WSU) recorded 22 digs at Augustana and 30 digs at Wayne State for a total of 52 on the weekend. She amassed 51 service receptions and had a serve reception percentage of .980. She helped lead the Warriors to road wins at Augustana and No. 8 Wayne State.
SETTER
#7 Kameron Selvig (UMary) helped lead the Marauders to a weekend sweep over Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston. She had 46 assists, 8 digs and 4 aces against BSU and 44 assists against UMC.
#11 Kelly Klees (MSUM) had 68 set assists in two matches to averaged 9.6 assists per set. She had a career-high 49 assists in four-set loss to No. 13 St. Cloud State.
#14 Sophia Peterson (MINOT) led the way to a weekend split for the Beavers as she averaged 8.66 assists per match, including 29 in a win Friday night.
#5 Krista Goerger (USF) had 76 assists (12.67 per set) with two service aces, 26 digs, and five kills to lead USF to a 1-1 record this weekend at home against No. 5 Concordia St. Paul and Minnesota State. Goerger had three kills on five attacks with 31 assists and a service ace with nine digs vs. No. 5 Concordia St. Paul. She added 45 assists, a block, service aces and 17 digs with two kills as USF swept MSU, 3-0. She will play in her 100th match this week and has a school record 3,186 assists, school record 114 service aces and 622 career digs (7th all-time at USF).
#2 Bre Maloney (WSU) totaled 97 assists on the weekend and averaged 10.78 assists per set. She helped lead Winona State to wins at Augustana and No. 8 Wayne State.

The NSIC is a 16-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders.
