NSIC Men’s Field Athlete of the Year
Tanner Berg (Throws, Sr., Watertown, S.D. / Watertown HS) - Northern State
- Won both the weight and shot at the NSIC Championships
- Set a new NSIC record in the weight throw with a NCAA automatic qualifying heave of 69-8 (21.23m)
- His throw of 72-11/75 (22.55m) from earlier this season ranks first in the nation this season
- Set a new school record in the shot put with a throw of 57-1 (17.40m), which ranks 13th best in the nation this season
- Has led the Nation all year for Division II in the weight throw and holds the third best throw of all time for D2
NSIC Men’s Track Athlete of the Year
Austin Miller (Distance, Gr., Sioux Falls, S.D. / Washington HS) - Augustana
- Won the mile in a record time of 4:08.88 at the NSIC Championships
- Also placed first in the 800m (1:51.91) and ran the anchor leg of the winning DMR
- All three races top the NSIC this season
- Ranks sixth in Division II in the 800m with his converted time of 1:50.34
- Ranks 15th in DII the mile with his converted time of 4:05.75 and the DMR
NSIC Men’s Newcomer of the Year
Paul Marchand (Sprints/Jumps, Fr., Nashua, N.H. / Nashua South HS) - Upper Iowa
- Won the long jump as a freshman at the NSIC Championships
- Jumped 23.4.75 (7.13m) to win the event, just missing a provisional mark
- Placed second in the 60m dash with time of 6.89
- Totaled 18 points at the NSIC Championship
NSIC Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year
Greg Binstock - Augustana
- Oversaw sprints, jumps, hurdles and multis that totaled 76 points at the NSIC Championships
- Coached NSIC High Point Scorer Tyl Woelber
- Coached two national qualifiers in Tyl Woelber (heptathlon) and Lawrence Lokonobei (60 hurdles)
NSIC Men’s Coach of the Year
Tracy Hellman - Augustana
- Coached four student-athletes that won their respective events at the NSIC Championships
- Also coaches the DMR’s victory and seven more earning all-conference honors
- The total points coming from Hellman’s individually-coached athletes at the conference meet was 116
- This year, Coach Hellman had an athlete break the 5,000m school record in Alec Kray’s 14:10.51
- Additionally seven other times cracked Augustana’s top-10 list
All-Conference performers consist of the top three place winners in each event and the members of the top two relay teams from the conference meet.
