Kansas City, Mo. – Winona State holds a four-stroke lead after the first round of the NSIC Men’s Golf Championship played at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri.  The Warriors shot a first round score of 301 and are followed by Bemidji State, Minnesota State and Upper Iowa, which all shot rounds of 305.  The Warriors have three golfers in the top ten while both BSU and MSU have two golfers in the top four after 18-holes of the 54-hole championship. 

Augustana's Jacob Lee sits alone atop the leaderboard after his first round 1-under-par round of 70.  Lee ended the first round with the four birdies, 11 pars, and three bogies. 

Minnesota State's Hunter Rebrovich and Bemidji State's Chris Swenson both shot rounds of 1-over-par to set at 72 and are tied for second.  

The second 18-holes of the NSIC Championship will begin on Saturday morning with tee-time starts at 9 a.m. The third and final round will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday.  The top five golfers will be named NSIC All-Tournament, while the team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional, which will be played at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri hosted by William Jewell College and the Kansas City Sports Commission on May 6-8. The NCAA Championships will be played May 17-21 at the PGA National Resort, The Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with Palm Beach Atlantic University and Palm Beach County Sports Commission serving as hosts.
