Augustana leads NSIC Women's Golf Championship after first round

MORTON, Minn.  – Augustana holds a 14 stroke lead after the first round of the NSIC Women’s Golf Championship played at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, Minnesota.  The Vikings shot a first round score of 296, 8-over-par and have the top three players on the leaderboard after 18-holes of the 54-hole championship. Sioux Falls is in second at 310 (+22) while Minnesota State is third at 323 (+35). 

Augustana's Alex Stone sits alone atop the leaderboard after her first round of 72.  Stone ended the first round with the four birdies, 10 pars, and four bogies. Teammates Molly Stevens (73 +1) and Lauren Tims (74 +2)  sit second and third while Sioux Falls Lexi Hanson is fourth at 75 (+3).  

The second 18-holes of the NSIC Championship will begin on Saturday morning with tee-time starts at 10 a.m. The third and final round will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday.  The top five golfers will be named NSIC All-Tournament, while the team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional.
