NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#14 Sara Wendt (F, 5-10, Sr., Arden Hills, Minn. / Mounds View HS) - Bemidji State
- Scored four goals, two in each match, in a 2-1 win at NSU and a 2-0 win at MSUM
- Posted her third and fourth multi-goal matches of the season
- She also netted the game-winning goal in each of the Beavers’ wins
- Scored the game-winner in the 90th minute on Friday
- With eight goals and 17 points in 2021, she leads all NSIC players in both categories
- Her eight goals lead all of NCAA Division II
- Has a league-best four game winning goals on the season
- Named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season (9/7/21)
NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#12 Aimee Sies (D, 5-6, Sr., Brooklyn, Wis. / Belleville HS) - Upper Iowa
- Played full time and helped the UIU defense secure a pair of 1-0 shutouts over SMSU and USF
- Held USF to just three shots, two on goal and SMSU to five shots, one on goal
- Took one shot against SMSU and put both her shots on goal against USF
- Cleared a dangerous ball that would have scored after a ricochet off the UIU goalkeeper
NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week
#1 Maddie Kindred (GK, 5-10, R-Jr., Soldotna, Alaska / Soldotna HS) - Minot State
- Recorded a pair of shutouts in wins over UMD and SCSU
- Made 10 saves in a 1-0 shutout win Sunday at St. Cloud State
- Had five saves in a 2-0 win at Minnesota Duluth on Friday

OFFENSE
#4 Carlie Kray (AUGIE) scored the game-winning goal as Augustana snapped an 18-game losing streak to Minnesota State. She tallied the game’s lone goal in the 56th minute. Her only shot of the contest was a goal.
#2 Hannah Richter (UMary) had a hand in all three Marauders goals on the weekend as UMary finished the opening weekend of NSIC play undefeated. She assisted on the opening goal before finding the net herself in a 2-2 draw at SCSU. She posted the assist on the lone goal in UMary’s 1-0 win at UMD, serving a perfect ball off a corner kick knocked home by Samantha Guzman.
#4 Jenny Vetter (MSU) scored the Mavericks’ eventual game-winning goal vs. Wayne State on Friday in MSU’s 2-1 victory over the Wildcats. She led MSU with three shots over the weekend. Played 109 minutes over the weekend in the Mavericks’ two matches.
#11 Sofia Lewis (MINOT), the all-time leader in goals scored at Minot State, added to her total with both goals in the Beavers 2-0 win at Minnesota Duluth.
#15 Eva Larson (NSU) scored her first two career goals in a Northern State victory over Minnesota Crookston.
#4 Katie Samuels (UIU) scored the game-winning goal against SMSU in a 1-0 win while leading the match with three shots. She assisted Sami Reding on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over USF while taking a match-high six shots and tying for a match-high two shots on goal. She is tied for fourth in the NSIC in shot per game (4.00) and tied for fifth in shots overall (16) in four games.
#10 Reanne Weil (WSU) had the Warrior game winner against Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday, Sept. 19. She scored the game winning goal with just 3 minutes to play in the first half.
DEFENSE
#22 Samantha Guzman (UMary) scored the lone goal in the Marauders 1-0 win at Minnesota Duluth. She beat the Bulldog defenders to a ball in the box to head home the lone counter in the game. She helped UMary register the Marauders second shutout of the season as UMD posted nine shots with only five on goal. UMary closed out the opening weekend of the NSIC season undefeated after also claiming a 2-2 draw at SCSU.
#7 Kelly Friedrich (MSU) saw action in all 180 minutes of last weekend’s action for MSU on the defensive end.#30 Shaye Taylor (MINOT) anchored the defense playing all 180 minutes in a pair of shutout wins by the Beavers.
#12 Paige Hutton (NSU) scored her first career goal in a loss to Bemidji State. She played 45 minutes in Northern State’s shutout victory over Minnesota Crookston, where the Golden Eagles were held to only one shot in the game.
#31 Katie Timmons (WSU) played a key role in the 1-1 NSIC opening weekend for Winona State. Went the full 90 minutes vs. Sioux Falls. Played all 90 minutes vs. SMSU, transitioning to CB due an injury. Had three shots total, putting two on goal.
GOALKEEPER
#1 Jillian Barkus (AUGIE), in 200 minutes of action, allowed just a single goal. She tallied a clean sheet for her second shutout of the season as Augustana topped Minnesota State for the first time in 18 contests. Over the two games, which included a two overtime contest against CSP, she tallied a 0.45 goals against average. She recorded 17 saves and a .944 save percentage. Augustana went 1-0-1 against the preseason top-3 (Vikings were No. 2).
#33 Clare Longueville (MSU) made four saves for MSU in the Mavericks’ 2-1 victory over the Wildcats, last Friday. Now sports a 2-1 record in net for MSU.
#0 Alexis Wemhoff (USF) had a standout weekend as the USF Soccer Team finished 1-1. In 180 minutes, Wemhoff recorded 20 saves and allowed just one goal while facing 36 shots by opponents. She recorded her second career shutout in USF’s 2-0 road win at Winona State. Then she allowed just a single goal in a 1-0 loss at Upper Iowa. She has a 1.69 goal allowed average with 31 saves while facing 64 shots. She has a 86.1 percent save mark.
#30 Natalie Rudrud (UIU) secured three saves on all three shots on goal she faced across two Upper Iowa wins. She shut out SMSU and USF in a pair of 1-0 wins to improve UIU to 4-0 (2-0 NSIC). She leads the NSIC in goals against average (.245), shutouts (3), and shutout percentage (.750).
#00 Alyson Jumper (WSU) earned a victory in her first career start as a Warrior in the Winona State 2-1 win over Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday. She had six total saves and conceded just one goal as she went the full 90 minutes for the win.
