NSIC Men's Golfer of the Week
Brandon Nelson (FY-Sr., Litchfield, Minn. / Litchfield HS) - Bemidji State
- Tied for sixth individually at the
Northeastern State Men's Golf Classic
- Carded a career three-round low of 209 (69-68-72) which was four-under par for the tournament
- Was the top NSIC Golfer by seven strokes at the tournament
- Helped the Beavers to a 13th place finish out of 18 teams
Other Top Performances
Ben Laffen (MSU) carded rounds of 70, 72 and 73 in claiming medalist honors at the
Fall Hardrocker Invitational hosted by South Dakota Mines. His 215 total (-1) placed him three strokes in front of the second-place finisher Masen Ward of Westminster (Utah). There were ten teams and 56 individuals at the tournament in which MSU placed fourth as a team.
Gavin Metz (USF) shot a career-best three-round score of 216 (69-72-75) and finished three-over-par at the NSU (Northeastern State) Golf Classic. He tied for 21st overall. Metz closed the tournament with a four-over 75 (38-37) consisting of 14 pars. His day one scores of 69 (35-34) and 72 (35-37) led to his 221. In total Metz sank eight birdies along with 35 pars.
Matthew Chandler (WSU) fired a 219 over the three rounds at the Northeastern State Open, including a team-lowest score of 70 in round two. As team, WSU finished 12th among 18 teams in one of the top events in the country.
