Minnesota State’s Jenny Vetter earns NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year Award

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Minnesota State’s Jenny Vetter was voted by the league coaches as the NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year for women’s soccer.  A native of Mankato, Minnesota, Vetter is a fifth-year senior majoring in biology and holds a 4.00 cumulative grade point average. 
 
The “NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year Award” is presented to a NSIC women’s soccer student-athlete who participates at their institution for four years and is academically superior while making a positive contribution to their team and the University. The NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year award was initiated in 2020-21 to honor an outstanding senior that exemplifies the attributes of the model NSIC student-athlete.

On the pitch, Vetter is a  three-time NSIC Player of the Year, two-time All-NSIC first team, the 2019 D2CCA Central Region Player of the Year and NSIC Tournament MVP.  She finishes her career with 39 goals in NSIC matches, ranking her fourth all-time.  She also amassed 94 points (39 goals & 16 assists) in her career, also good for fourth in the NSIC record book. 

In the classroom, Vetter is a NSIC Myles Brand Award winner, a NSIC Honor Student-Athlete, a multiple year
recipient of the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence and was the first MSU women's student-athlete to become a three-time CoSIDA All-American.

The NSIC is a 16-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
