NSIC North Division Player of the Week
#24 Charlie Katona (F, 6-6, 205, Jr., Shakopee, Minn. / Shakopee HS) - UMD
- Averaged 18.5 PPG on 63.2% shooting from the field across two wins last week
- Added 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 blocks
- Scored a season-high 25 points (on 8-12 shooting) in a 83-68 win over BSU
- Added nine rebounds, five steals and three blocks
- The five steals were the most in a single game in the NSIC this past weekend
NSIC South Division Player of the Week
#23 Matt Cartwright (G, 6-5, 195, Gr., Sioux Falls, SD / O’Gorman HS) - Sioux Falls
- Averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 boards, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists
- Had two 20-point games on the week collecting 43 total points
- Had 21 points with three rebounds and two assists and two steals in a 65-60 win over WSC
- Added 22 points with six boards with three steals in a 80-59 win at Augustana
- Recorded his eighth 20-point game of the season and 20th of his career
Other Top Performances - North
#23 John Sutherland (BSU) averaged 16.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game over 64 minutes of play in two games. He shot 64.0 percent from the field (16-25) and recorded three assists, two blocks and one assist.
#24 Kam Warrens (UMary) led the Marauders in scoring in both games last week. He posted 14 points at Northern State and added five rebounds. He had 12 points against the Dragons on Saturday. He averaged 13.0 points/game during the week.
#00 Jaden Stanley-Williams (MSUM) scored 18 points, a game-high in MSUM’s 84-63 win over Minot State on Thursday. He shot six of nine from the field (66.7 percent) including three three-point field goals on four shot attempts against the Beavers. He continued his hot streak with a 20-point effort as the Dragons beat UMary 88-55, which was another game-high. He shot seven of nine from the field (77.8 percent) including two three-pointers in the win. He finished the week averaging 19 points per game on 68.4 percent shooting over two games.
#11 Michael Jok (MINOT) led the way in his first start at Minot State with a team-high 15 points in Saturday’s win after leading the way with a team-high 13 points off the bench on Thursday.
#5 Sam Masten (NSU) led Northern State averaging a double-double against UMary and Minot with 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds He shot 56.5% from the floor and 50.0% from beyond the arc. He added a team leading ten assists, as well as one steal and three made 3-pointers. He pulled down a career high 11 rebounds against the Beavers.
Other Top Performances - South
#3 Akoi Akoi (AUGIE), the NSIC’s leader in field-goal percentage, had another strong week from the field shooting 58.8 percent from the field while averaging 12.5 points per game. He added 4.5 rebounds per game and did not have a single turnover. He is now shooting 61.7 percent from the field to lead the NSIC and rank 27th in DII.
#00 Trevor Moore (MSU) averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in MSU’s two wins last week. He shot 57.9% from the field, including a 6.15% (8-of-13) from three point range. He scored a game-high 23 point in MSU’s 74-71 win at Winona State, which included a 6-of-9 performance from downtown.
#32 Jordan Janssen (WSC) averaged 21.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game vs. USF and SMSU. He had 27 points on 12-18 shooting in 65-60 road loss at Sioux Falls. He added 16 points, four rebounds and three assists on 8 of 12 shooting in Saturday’s 83-62 win over SMSU. For the week shot 66 percent (20-30) from the field and 3-6 (50%) at free throw line.
#2 Connor Dillon (WSU) scored a career-high 27 points in a win over Concordia-St. Paul. He shot .509 from the floor across 3 games, hitting 28-of-55 shots. He averaged 5.0 rpg and scored at a 23.0 average per game on the week.

The NSIC is a 16-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders.
