NSIC North Division Player of the Week
#45 Katrina Theis (F, 5-11, 5th, Maple Grove, Minn. / Maple Grove HS) - St. Cloud State
- Averaged 29.5 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists in wins over UMC and BSU
- Led the NSIC is scoring and rebounding and was second in FG percentage last week
- Scored a career high 36 points in a 71-51 win over UMC
- Went 26-of-32 for a 81% shooting percentage, including 17-of-19 against UMC
NSIC South Division Player of the Week
#5 Natalie Bremer (G, 5-11, Fr., Lake City, Minn. / Lake City HS) - Minnesota State
- Averaged 20 points, 5.5 rebounds and two steals in two Maverick wins
- Scored 21 points while shooting 8-13 from the field in a 88-69 win over Winona State
- Recorded 19 points, six rebounds, and three steals in a 83-54 win over Upper Iowa
- Had 13 points in the first half against UIU
Other Top Performances - North
#14 Trinity Yoder (BSU) led the Beavers in scoring by averaging 11.5 points per game and rebounding with 4.5 rebounds per game. She shot 30.0 percent from the field (6-20) 50.0 percent from three (2-4) and 81.8 percent from the free throw line (9-11). She totaled five assists and two steals.
#22 Megan Zander (UMary) led the Marauders to a pair of Northern Sun wins as she had a double double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 70-57 win at Northern State and added three assists. She scored a career-high 23 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals in an 83-75 win over MSU Moorhead. She averaged 20.5 ppg/7.5 rpg/2.5 apg for the week while shooting 50% (15-of-30) from the floor, 44.4% (4-of-9) on treys and 87.5% (7-for-8) at the line.
#24 Brooke Olson (UMD) averaged 26 points on 59.5% shooting across two wins this past week. The 26 PPG was second in the NSIC over this span and the 59.5 FG% was fifth. She shot 45.5% from three, also fifth in the NSIC for the week -third in blocks a game on the week with 1.50. She is 11th in average rebounding in the NSIC with 6.50 a game. She registered a season-high 31 points on 65% shooting from the field against Bemidji State on Saturday to go along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
#1 Mariah McKeever (MSUM) scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds in MSUM’s 57-33 win over Minot State on Thursday. She shot 50 percent from the floor against the Beavers. She scored 25 points and snared six rebounds in Saturday’s loss to UMary. McKeever also had two steals in the game. She shot eight of 12 from the field against the Marauders.
#11 Kate Head (MINOT) led the Beavers to a pair of wins as she had team-highs in scoring in all three games last week. She led Minot State to a win in its home debut with game-highs of 20 points and 6 assists, then had game-highs in points with 19 and rebounds with 6 in Saturday’s win.
#41 Laurie Rogers (NSU) led Northern State by averaging 16.0 points per game while shooting 12-25 from the field, 1-1 from 3-point range, and 7-8 from the free throw line this past week. She also averaged 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. Rogers has recorded a blocked shot in all nine games this season, and ranks top-15 nationally with 2.0 blocked shots per game.
Other Top Performances - South
#45 Jennifer Aadland (AUGIE) shot almost perfect games this past week with a combined .923 percentage completing 12-of-13 shot in the field and being a perfect 2-2 from the 3-point line. Totaled eight rebounds, four assists, and 29 points against USF and SMSU.
Sarah Kuma (CSP) averaged 14.33 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.33 steals in three wins for the Golden Bears. Had 19 points in a win over Upper Iowa and added 16 in a 58-39 win over Winona State.
#11 Lauren Zacharias (WSC) had first career double-double leading WSC to 72-62 win over Southwest Minnesota State Saturday night. She scored 13 points with a career-high 10 rebounds in win over SMSU. She added 11 points and five rebounds in Thursday’s 71-55 road win at Sioux Falls. For the week averaged 12 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
#10 Alex Dornfeld (WSU) hauled in double-digit rebounds in two of her three contests. She averaged 8.0 points per game for the week with 10.7 boards and 1.3 steals per outing.
