Blue Springs, Mo. – Upper Iowa shot a second round 292 to extend its lead at the NSIC Men’s Golf Championship played at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri.  The Peacocks sit at 588 (+12) and hold a four stroke lead over Concordia-St. Paul (592). The Peacocks have two of the top three golfers and four in the top 15 after 36-holes of the 54-hole championship. 

Upper Iowa's Nolan Leaton and Concordia-St. Paul's Thomas Huettl sit tied atop the individual leaderboard at 143, 1-under-par.  Both student-athletes shot rounds of 70 on day one and rounds of 73 on day two.  UIU's Tate Carlson sits alone in third at 146, 2-over-par.  Six players are tied for fourth at 148.  

The final 18-holes of the NSIC Championship will begin on Saturday morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.  The top five golfers will be named NSIC All-Tournament, while the team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional, which will be played at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana hosted by the University of Indianapolis on May 5-7. The NCAA Championships will be played May 16-20 at the TPC Michigan in Dearborn, Michigan; hosted by Wayne State University and Detroit Sports Commission, hosts.
