NSIC North Division Player of the Week
#23 John Sutherland (F, 6-7, 225, Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn. / Grand Rapids HS) - Bemidji State
- Averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals in two wins
- Shot 59.3 percent (16-27) from the field and went 10-of-15 from the free throw line
- Scored a career-high 27 points and totaled 10 rebounds in a 79-69 win over MSU
- Recorded his sixth double-double of the season
- Named NSIC Player of Week for the second time this season (11/21/22)
NSIC South Division Player of the Week
#23 Matt Cartwright (G, 6-5, 195, Gr., Sioux Falls, SD / O’Gorman HS) - Sioux Falls
- Averaged 38.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in a weekend split
- Scored a career high 45 points in an 85-80 overtime loss to No. 20 MSUM
- Had 31 points and five boards in a 70-68 win over Northern State
- Set the USF single game record with nine made three pointers against MSUM
- Leads the NSIC in scoring with 427 points and in made three pointers with 72
Other Top Performances - North
#24 Kam Warrens (UMary) averaged 17.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg in a pair of road games for the Marauders at Augustana and Wayne State. He scored a career-high 26 points against the Vikings, making 4-of-7 trey attempts and all six free throws while grabbing seven rebounds. He posted eight points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks against the Wildcats. For the weekend he made 11-of-21 shots, 5-of-10 treys and 7-of-8 free throws.
#4 Jacob Beeninga (MSUM) scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds against Northern State on Tuesday evening. He tallied 15 points and three assists in MSUM’s win over Southwest Minnesota State on Friday night, including three three-point field goals. He netted a career-high 36 points, including 12 made free throws, in MSUM’s overtime win over Sioux Falls on Saturday. He added three rebounds in the 85-80 win. He shot 42 percent across the week including seven three-pointers. He averaged 21 points over a three-game stretch this week.
#2 Khari Broadway (MINOT) led all scorers on Saturday with 20 points as Minot State completed a road sweep in NSIC play. Friday he added 18 points in a comeback win to start the weekend. Khari shot 57 percent from the field in the two wins.
#22 Matthew Willert (SCSU) put up 26 total points, went 7-9 from the foul line and had 14 rebounds over the weekend in the Huskies weekend split with Winona State and Upper Iowa. Additionally, Willert had nine total assists with seven against Winona State. Against UIU, Willert nabbed nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Other Top Performances - South
#24 Ryan Miller (AUGIE) averaged 14.5 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals over the two-game weekend. He shot 53 percent from the field in the contests. His points, assists and steals were team bests over the two games.
#11 Antwan Kimmons (CSP) led the team with 22.5 points per game on 63.6% (14-22) from the floor and 88.9% (16-18) from the free throw line. He added 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in the two contests. He registered his second career 20-10 game with 21 points and 10 boards in the win over UMC. He shot over 60.0% from the floor and connected on 88.9% from the line in both games. He ranks third in the NSIC in scoring (21.0), fifth in field goal percentage (54.6%) and sixth in assists (4.2).
#1 Kyreese Willingham (MSU) led the Mavericks in scoring last week with an average of 26.0 points per game. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 52.8% from the field and 54.5% from three point range. He led the Mavericks in scoring in both games, including a career-high 27 points against Minnesota Crookston.
#20 Anthony Costello (SMSU) averaged 17 points in two games, while shooting 68 percent (15 of 22) from the field including 4 of 8 from 3-point range. He scored 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting in a two-point loss to MSU Moorhead on Friday, before scoring a game-high 20 points on 9 of 12 shooting in a Saturday win over Northern State. Costello, a second-year transfer from Dakota State University, has scored 975 career points in 96 career games, including 424 points at SMSU in 44 games.
#32 Jordan Janssen (WSC) averaged 22 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in home contests vs. Minot State and UMary...had 20 points and nine rebounds in Saturday’s 72-52 win over UMary...scored 24 points with seven assists and six rebounds in Friday’s 80-79 loss to Minot State...shot 50 percent (18-36) from the field and 80 percent (8-10) at the free throw line.
#2 Connor Dillon (WSU) scored a career-high 30 points in an 84-72 road win over (RV) Minnesota Duluth on Saturday night. In 39 minutes of action, Dillon dished out four assists and collected three rebounds while going 11-22 from the field and 6-9 from the charity stripe. Also added 10 points against St. Cloud State to average 20 ppg this weekend.

The NSIC is a 16-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders.
