NSIC Player of the Week
Florentia Hadjigeorgiou (Jr., Deryneia, Cyprus / G C School of Careers Nicosia) - Augustana
- Went undefeated in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to lead the Vikings to a 2-0 weekend
- Defeated Madeleine Schneider of Minnesota Crookston, 6-4, 6-2
- Defeated Blanca Lopez-Oro of Bemidji State, 6-0, 6-1
- Joined Aleksandra Kistanova to defeated Blanca Lopez-Oro and Nicoleta Anestiadi of BSU, 6-3
- Defeated Blaike Zander and Kavya Singh of UMC, 6-2
Other Top Performances
Blanca Lopez-Oro (BSU) added another win at No. 1 singles against Sioux Falls coming away with the 5-7, 6-0, 10-7 victory. Lopez-Oro has won five singles matches this year, all at the top flight, and has won two of her last three in NSIC action.
Hala Hossam Awad (UMary) won both her No. 4 singles matches to remain undefeated in NSIC and NCAA Division II play. She defeated Minnesota State's Avery Stilwell 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 and Camila Paccieri of SMSU 6-0, 6-1.. She split her doubles matches over the weekend. She is 10-0 in NCAA Division II play, 7-0 in NSIC action and 10-1 overall in singles competition this season.
Lois Page (MSU) went 2-0 in No. 1 singles as he defeated Chloe Chong of UMary 6-3, 7-5 and Shaelyn Johnson of MSUM 6-3, 6-1. She went 2-0 with her teammate Avery Stilwell in No. 1 doubles matches as they defeated Chong and Ilona Freitag of UMary 6-3 and Tiannah Gu and Madison Bell of MSUM 6-2.
Shaelyn Johnson (MSUM) closed her weekend with a doubles win alongside Tia Dykema on Saturday morn-ing against SMSU. The pair defeated Joana Reis Indio and Maura Wins 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, picking up their sixth win of the season. She also took home a singles win in a grueling 7-5, 6-3 victory over Courtenay Leonard in number one singles. It is her seventh singles win of the season.
Danielle Thorfinnson (USF) went 4-0 on the weekend against UMC and BSU. She teamed up with Talia Janos to go 2-0 at No. 1 doubles while also going 2-0 at No. 2 singles. She sits 3-4 in singles play on the year and 3-2 in doubles. She helped lead USF to their first conference sweep of the season.
Beth Murman (WSU) went a combined 4-0 against St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. Murman defeated Oriana Grott from SCSU 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 in a three-set match. Against UMD, Murman defeated Shay Callaway in another three-set thriller by scores of 6-1, 2-6, 7-5. Murman and her partner Sara Anderson teamed up at No. 1 doubles to win both contests by scores of 6-2 and 6-3, re-spectively.

The NSIC is a 16-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders.
