2023 NSIC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Year Announced

NSIC Men’s Track Athlete & Newcomer of the Year
Jared Gregoire (Mid-Distance, Fr., Buffalo, Minn. / Buffalo HS) - MSU Moorhead

- Won two NSIC Champions, setting records in both
- Won the 800m run in a time of 1:50.11
- His 800m time of 1:49.71 from the USD Early Bird ranks 20th in NCAA Division II 
- Won the 1500m run with a time of 2:43.63 
- His 1500m time of  3:43.51 from the Bryan Clay Invitational ranks fifth best in Division II this season

NSIC Men’s Field Athlete of the Year
Tyler Hiatt (Throws, So., Sioux Falls, S.D. / Lincoln HS) - Sioux Falls

- NSIC Outdoor Championships High Point Scorer with  26 points
- Won the shot put with a throw of 56-8 (17.27M)  for a season best effort and an NCAA Provisional Mark
- The shot put ranks 28th in NCAA Division II this season
- Placed second in the discus with a throw of 166-2 (50.66m) for another provisional mark
- Ranks 20th in Division II in the discus with a throw of 172-2 (52.48m) from the Maverick Open #2
- Added a second place finish in the hammer throw with a career best effort of 174-11 (52.31m) for the second best effort in USF history

NSIC Men’s Assistant Coach  of the Year
Travis Kamm - Wayne State

- Coached student-athletes that accounted for 51 of the 65 points the Wildcats scored at the NSIC Championships
- Coached NSIC Champions Dylan Kneifl in the high jump and Debonaire Williams in the Decathlon
- Coached two student-athletes that will advance to NCAA Championships 

NSIC Men’s Coach  of the Year
Mike Turgeon - Minnesota State

- Led the Mavericks to their 11th straight NSIC Team Champions with 207 points
- His team had NSIC Champions in five events and a relay
- Coached 10 student-athletes that qualified for NCAA DII Championships and a relay
- Named NSIC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year the last five seasons

All-Conference performers consist of the top three place winners in each event and the members of the top two relay teams from the conference meet. 2023 All-NSIC Performers

The NSIC is a 16-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders.
