BURNSVILLE, Minn.  – Augustana University's Seth Miller was voted by the league coaches as the NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year in baseball. A native of  Blaine, Minnesota, Miller is a fifth-year senior majoring in journalism.

The “NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year Award” is presented to a NSIC Baseball student-athlete who participates at their institution for four years and is academically superior while making a positive contribution to their team and the University. The NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year award was initiated in 2020-21 to honor an outstanding senior that exemplifies the attributes of the model NSIC student-athlete.

In the classroom, Miller holds a 3.92 cumulative grade point average and is a three-time member of the NSIC All-Academic team.

Miller, an All-NSIC first team selection this season, is 7-0 on the hill during NSIC play, having tossed 45.0 innings with 43 strikeouts and has held opponents to just 11 walks and nine earned runs. Miller will finish his Augustana career in the top five in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts.

When not on the field or in the classroom, Miller has been an active member in the Augustana Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, has orchestrated service time with Feeding South Dakota, Children's Home Society of South Dakota and the Sioux Falls School District.  He was also voted by his peers as Augustana athletics Influencer of the Year for two consecutive years.

"Seth is a leader on our team and within our campus community. He is not only a great pitcher but brings the baseball and athletic programs here at Augustana a voice. This is evident as he has been voted by his peers as Augustana athletics Influencer of the Year two consecutive years. He is one of the more competitive guys I have coached and we know when we give him the ball on the mound he is going to give us a really good chance to win,” said Head Coach Tim Huber.

About NCAA Division II
The NCAA, the national governing body for college athletics, is a volunteer association of more than 1,000 colleges and universities that classify their athletics programs in one of three membership divisions. The 300+ institutions in NCAA Division II support a balanced approach in which student-athletes have the opportunity to earn scholarships based on their athletic ability, pursue their desired academic degree, and participate in all the campus and surrounding community have to offer. Division II student-athletes annually graduate at rates higher than their student body peers, and they have access to the best championships-participant ratio among the NCAA’s three divisions. Division II gives student-athletes the unique opportunity to compete in the classroom, on the field, in their career, for their causes, and on their terms.
