Our team, once young and inexperienced, has now blossomed with maturity. The leadership mantle falls on our capable juniors and seniors, who drive our success. Our journey to triumph revolves around synchronizing our best efforts on the same day. With a belief in our collective potential, we anticipate substantial growth from September to November, paving the way for reaching new levels as a unified and harmonious team.
Head Coach Jonathan Breitbarth
Matthew, a truly gifted runner, made significant strides last year, showcasing remarkable progress. His dedication to training during the summer and fall paid off with late-season success. As a junior runner, he approaches this season with a newfound maturity. Taking his training to even greater heights, we eagerly look forward to him leading by example and setting the bar high for the team this fall.

UNIVERSITY OF MARY

Our team will have a lot of new faces ready to compete at the collegiate level. We have an extremely young team that wants to grind it out this season and start a new era of U-Mary XC. I'm excited about our returners and what they will accomplish this year in the NSIC Championship at home.
Head Coach Chris Lessard
Guillermo is hungry for competition has the work ethic to back it throughout this upcoming season. He has been a rock on the team for several years now and we fully expect him to make a huge showing this coming fall. He is a team leader and advocate for what we do and what we believe in!
Head Coach Chris Lessard

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA CROOKSTON

Each year since the program started in 2019, our team 8K average time has decreased. This year the trend should continue as we only lost one runner and gained five talented incomers. We are still young with only having one senior, but this team has a great attitude and is willing to train hard every day to continue to improve. I am looking forward to watching the team compete and reach new heights this season!
Head Coach Steven Krouse
Tristan has emerged as the leader of our men’s cross country team and was voted team captain last season as a sophomore. On the course, Tristan had a breakout season and improved his 8k personal best by over 1:30. With another year of experience under his belt, I am excited to see what Tristan is able to accomplish!
Head Coach Steven Krouse

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA DULUTH

The Bulldogs are excited to showcase all of their improvements throughout the last few years. They work hard and show up for each other every day. I'm excited to watch the opportunities unfold this fall and what this team can do with all of the athletes returning from last year's 5th place team finish at the NSIC conference meet, as well as a talented incoming freshmen class!
Head Coach Brette Jensen
Jack's progress and self-belief have flourished throughout his time on the track and on the course. He has been a key contributor and leader for our men's program at UMD. His attitude and leadership have helped elevate a positive culture and great team environment. I'm excited to see the culmination of all of his hard work show this fall!
Head Coach Brette Jensen

Head Coach Ben Held
Tanner is coming into his senior season ready to roll. He has been putting in quality milage this summer that will push him to the top on the NSIC and Region. The drive that he has to succeed at anything he does is very impressive which makes him a natural leader and trickles down to the rest of the team.

With a year of training development and collegiate racing experience to his name, James is well positioned to compete with the best cross country runners in the NSIC.
Head Coach Ryan Milner

MINOT STATE UNIVERSITY

This will be a really fun year for Minot State. We have the largest team we have had since 2010 (maybe even earlier) with twenty men on the roster. We are returning three of last year's conference scorers and we have many underclassmen who have seriously stepped up this summer determined to fill those gaps. Although a young team, the men have set big goals for the season, with a priority of improving upon our place at the championship last fall. The team is full of hardworking, determined men who run for each other out there on the course. I truly believe that they can achieve anything they set their minds to together.
Head Coach Sarah Fowler
Jacob is set to have his best season yet for his senior year. Throughout his career, he has set every single DII Era cross country record we have at Minot State and lead his team to new heights, including being regionally ranked for the first time and the program's highest NSIC Championship finish in 2022. He was named All-Conference in 2021 and after battling an injury during the 2022 Championship, he is looking to place All-Conference again and go out with a career high finish for both him and his team. Not only in Jacob a force on the course, but he is also a fantastic student and person as well. He is a two time Elite-19 award winner for cross country and was named the 2022 Scholar Student Athlete for Minot State. He works incredibly hard, sets a great example with his leadership, and is just a great person to work with. He is coachable, keeps the mood light, but is also as serious as it gets when it comes to racing. He's the whole package!
Head Coach Sarah Fowler

NORTHERN STATE UNIVERSITY

This is a young, talented team who is very driven to do well. They are highly motivated and have put in the work this summer. We add a dynamic group of Freshmen runners into the group and we are very excited for the upcoming season.

Josh received All-Conference honors in cross country as a freshmen. He had an amazing season on the track as well. Josh has put in a great summer of training and we him to do big things this cross country season.
Head Coach Lynne Dingman

UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS

We had three of our top seven from last season graduate so it will be fun to see how the returning and newcomer runners will fill in the top seven spots. Many of the runners had outstanding indoor and outdoor seasons! They are ready to step and continue the distance tradition at USF.
Head Coach Doug Petersen
Micade was our top returning finisher at the Fall Championships with a Second Team All-NSIC award. He was an NSIC Outdoor Place winner in the 10k posting the fourth fastest time in USF history. He will be one of the team leaders this fall for the Cougars.
Head Coach Doug Petersen

SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY

We will have a very young team this year with the graduation of our two top runners. There should be plenty of competition among the group to improve as a team this fall.
Head Coach Kirk Nauman
Daniel comes into his sophomore as the top returner on the men's team. He puts in the work both in and out of the classroom.
Head Coach Kirk Nauman

WAYNE STATE COLLEGE

We have a good mix of upperclassmen and some newcomers who will quickly make the transition to competing in the NSIC. I think they have been working hard this summer and are excited to get back to campus and start racing again.
Head Coach Marlon Brink
Titus was a solid number two for us last year, and had a good track season where he showed some nice improvement, including placing 4th in the 10,000 meter run at the NSIC Outdoor Track Championships. He is a seasoned competitor who has a lot of experience racing at a high level. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do as a leader on the team.
Head Coach Marlon Brink

WINONA STATE UNIVERSITY

The team has worked hard this summer and all they want to do is get better. Mitchell Johnstone has dedicated himself to running and making the team better. Along with Mitchell Buerkle, Connor Hallaway and Tyler Merrell putting in the mileage and training smarter this summer. We also have Andrew Metcalf, who is a talented runner. It should be a very interesting year. We are short on numbers, but the guys are dedicated and are a very close knit. Lastly, we have two incoming freshmen Connor Norby and Jacob Lazara that should make an impact. This group wants to compete and be one of the stronger teams in the NSIC.
Head Coach John Hibshman
Mitchell is coming off a year that he did not reach all of his goals. He has learned what mileage and training works best for him and he is our team leader. Mitchell is on the SAAC Executive Committee. He has been on the Dean's list every year. I love the way Mitchell takes responsibility for his team and his performance at races. He is great role model for his younger teammates. I know when he puts his mind to something that he will achieve it. He has worked hard this summer and I am excited to see him run this fall.
