Each year he has added to his arsenal and this off-season was no different.

COACHES' QUOTES & PLAYERS/PITCHERS TO WATCH

1 - AUGUSTANA UNIVERSITY

This team has a lot of experience returning. Our guys will have very high expectations after a 2023 season that saw them accomplish back-to-back conference champs and another return trip to the World Series. Every starting position player is back and we have some nice depth of talent on the mound.
Head Coach Tim Huber
Drey has solidified himself as one of the best players in our conference. He changes the game both offensively at the plate and behind the plate with his defensive skill set. He will hit in the middle of our order and I expect Drey to have a great senior year.
Head Coach Tim Huber
Caleb is our most experienced pitcher and pitched in some big games for us last year on our run. He throws a lot of strikes, has exceptional command, and his ability to throw several quality pitches in the zone makes him a very tough match-up. 14 - BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY

Even though we took our fair share of knock downs the last two years we also played many very close games. We are excited with our young group to take the next steps in finishing out those close games and building our program back up and beyond. We have again many new faces that we plan on to become cornerstones of our program for the next three to four years. Overall we cannot wait to go out and prove to ourselves Beaver Baseball is on the rise.
Head Coach Matt Ellinghuysen
Jack is a leader on our team and we are looking for his veteran presence to shine through with our young team. He will be a catalyst for us offensively and we plan on him taking another step in becoming one of the best hitters in our league. He will play a vital role in taking our program to new and exciting heights and are excited to what the 2024 season has in store.
Head Coach Matt Ellinghuysen
Christian while still young we are excited for him to lead our staff for this year and years to come. Lindow has made the transition from the bullpen to a starting role through his hard work, preparation, and relentless dedication to make not only himself better but our entire staff better. Lindow is one of the cornerstones for our success this year and in the future. We are excited to watch Lindow grow into one of what we believe is a great pitcher in the entirety of the Beaver baseball program’s history.
Head Coach Matt Ellinghuysen

11 - CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY, ST. PAUL

We have a veteran team with lots of NSIC experience and are excited to see the continued growth this group will make. We return 8 position players who started regularly in 2023 along with 9 of the 11 pitchers who had the most innings pitched on our 2023 club. We think this experience along with a solid group of younger players will help lead our club to a successful 2024 campaign. Guys had a great fall and off-season training time and are excited to get on the field for the 2024 season.
Head Coach Neil Lerner
Kal is a true leader on our team - a hard worker who leads by example. He loves the game of baseball and his enthusiasm for the game is contagious. He has been a mainstay in the middle of our lineup since his freshman year, when he earned second-team All-NSIC. Kal can play multiple positions but has found a home at 1B for us. A career .320 hitter, we look for Kal to play a big part in our success this year.
Head Coach Neil Lerner
Korey has been in our starting rotation since his freshman year and took over as our #1 starter during his sophomore year. Korey is a guy that wants the ball and our guys feed off the energy that he brings to the mound and the baseball field. Korey has a bulldog mentality and it showed last year as he led our team in innings pitched and wins. We always feel like we have a great chance to win when Korey is pitching and we look forward to him taking another big step forward this year.
Head Coach Neil Lerner

9 - UNIVERSITY OF MARY

Our group is a good mixture of experience and new additions. We feel like we have been able to address some flaws and continue to make our team more and more dynamic on both sides of the ball. We have really exceptional human beings who hold themselves and each other to a very high standard. I expect us to compete at a very high level!
Head Coach Tanner Spencer
Noah is a returning all-conference player. He possesses exciting power, along with a much-improved hit tool. We expect Noah to be a key contributor in the middle of our line-up.
Head Coach Tanner Spencer
Mark has worked his way into being one of the best relief pitchers in our league. He is one of our captains and represents our program and University at an extremely high level. We look for Mark to anchor the backend of our bullpen in 2024.
Head Coach Tanner Spencer

4 - UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA CROOKSTON

We have most of our offense returning and some good veteran pitchers. We also feel our freshmen class can contribute some as they gain experience. We have a veteran ball club which we hope helps us during the highs and lows of a season. We have the tools to win ball games but the key for us is for our guys to get better each day and have a high compete level from the start of the season to the end.
Head Coach Steve Gust
Jake (Hjelle) is a great athlete and a 5-tool player. He can run, throw, hit for average and power. He put together an awesome season a year ago, but the key for his continued success is to find ways to get better this season. He has been a hard working, dedicated and loyal player to our program. I believe he will continue to help elevate our program this spring.
Head Coach Steve Gust
Jake (Osowski) has been somewhat of an underrated player in his career. His won/loss percentage over the past three seasons has been stellar. He isn't overpowering on the mound but he finds ways to get outs and win us ball games. What makes him so good is his ability to command the baseball and the way he competes at such a high level.
Head Coach Steve Gust

12 - UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA DULUTH

We are excited for spring. There are a few holes to fill from last year's seniors but across the board there is a bit more experienced depth to rely on throughout the season. A pitching staff with command and an offense with balance will be important elements to our success this season.
Head Coach Bob Rients
Ethan flourished as a sophomore last year while playing multiple roles. His motivation and quiet intensity play a significant role in his emergence as foundational player for this program.
Head Coach Bob Rients
Brayden is a high energy, competitive LHP who is able to command 3 pitches as well as control the running game. He does a good job giving our team a chance to win and we look forward to his continued development during his senior year.

This year's team includes a balanced mix of veteran players along with many talented newcomers who will provide depth and contribute in all aspects of the game. It is a skilled, athletic team that has been extremely diligent in their preparation. We're excited about the competitive non-conference schedule that will prepare us for the challenges of the 40 game conference schedule.
Head Coach Matt Magers
Aidan has developed into our primary leader on and off the field. He sets the tone with his work ethic and has an edge that raises the level of his teammates play. Offensively Aidan finds various ways to get on base, once there he has many tools to score runs. Defensively his shifty footwork, dependable glove, and solid arm make everyone around him better.
Head Coach Matt Magers
Spencer has been a leader in the weight room since he arrived, that commitment has allowed him to progress into a top of the rotation guy for us this year. He has a 3 pitch mix with the ability to locate all of them at any time during the count.
Head Coach Matt Magers

Karson will be a player we foresee having a big role for our team this spring. He had a tremendous summer in the Northwoods League and carried that high-level play into the fall with us. Karson has been an everyday player for us the last three years and has grown into a great leader for our program. We expect Karson to be a guy we can count on in our lineup this season.
Head Coach Dean Berry
Max is everything a coach could ask for in a pitcher. He has great mound presence, can throw multiple pitches for strikes, and gives us a chance to win every time he takes the mound. Max is also a tremendous leader and a guy our younger players can look up. Max has pitched a lot for us in his career and we look forward to seeing what type of year he can put together this season.
Head Coach Dean Berry

10 - UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS

I’m excited for this spring as we’ve added some great pieces to our pitching staff and should be much improved on the mound. We returned almost our entire offense from last year so I’m hoping to be better on both sides of the ball.
Head Coach Grant Hieb
I’m hoping Brady can build on his solid campaign from last year. He’s a great leader and one of my hardest workers. He should be a staple in the middle of our lineup again this year.
Head Coach Grant Hieb
Reese is in his second year in our program and has made huge strides on the mound since he first arrived. He was initially coming off a shoulder injury but since getting healthy, he has continued to improve. We’re anticipating a big year out of him at the top of our rotation.

5 - SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY

The Mustangs return a lot of firepower this spring as we have 28 upperclassmen on the roster. Coming off a 2023 season in which the Mustangs finished 5th in the NSIC, the guys have been hungry and continued to elevate their game and competing at a higher level. We have seven senior position players and six senior pitchers, all of whom have played in some big moments at SMSU. We are very hopeful the experience these guys have and their preparation will pay big dividends in 2024!
Head Coach Jeremy Ische
Chase is a great young man who has continued to get better at SMSU. He's pretty electric with what he does on a consistent basis. He makes the routine play and can go above and beyond that. He has a big heart and is a great teammate. He plans to become a teacher and a coach after his playing career and he is a joy to coach! He is a phenomenal person and is very involved in the Marshall MN community helping coach youth baseball during the summer months.
Head Coach Jeremy Ische
Kolby is a big strong physical RHP who has the ability to get outs many different ways. He has also continued to get better in his time at SMSU and we are excited he is on our team! He is a three pitch guy who has worked tremendously hard at his craft and moves really well on the mound. Excited to see Kolby and our pitching staff compete this spring!
Head Coach Jeremy Ische

3 - ST. CLOUD STATE UNIVERSITY

Like any new team, we lost some solid seniors and great leaders and we also lost a few of our top players and captains to the transfer portal. But I really like the makeup of our team and how they all work hard and get along so well. The fall season was one of the most fun falls I've had and that is really what it's all about. When you have some talent that works hard and has fun playing the game it usually is a formula for a solid season.
Head Coach Pat Dolan
Cal is an all-around solid player both offensively and defensively and he has a great understanding of the game. He has fit in great with the team as a grad transfer and does a great job leading the team with his experience.
Head Coach Pat Dolan
Luke is a true competitor on the mound and wants the ball in big games. As a captain, he has done an outstanding job leading the team with his work ethic and leadership. We are expecting another big year, as he is finally 100% healthy.
Head Coach Pat Dolan

6 - WAYNE STATE COLLEGE

This year's team brings back just about everyone from the year before with some great additions at some key spots. We were a slow starting team last year but finished the season strong. The team is looking to start where it left off, and continue to build as the season progresses. This is a team that should be stronger on the mound and much more experienced offensively.
Head Coach Alex Koch
Colin is not only a great baseball player but a great person. He brings a bunch of knowledge and experience to still a fairly young team. He will be a big bat in the middle of our order and will look to help lead our team offensively.
Head Coach Alex Koch
Corbin is a hard worker with a great mindset. He was our ace last year and pitched through a lot of discomfort all season long. He showed how tough he can be on the mound and that will only help him in the future. Corbin is fully healthy and looking really good. He is a goal driven individual and we are looking for him to have a great season.
Head Coach Alex Koch

8 - WINONA STATE UNIVERSITY

This year will be an exciting transition year for our team with so many new players. The culture is strong, and our student athletes are buying into the program’s vision. Looking forward to seeing if we can take a step forward in an extremely competitive league.
Head Coach Seth Wing
Austin is an extremely high-character student-athlete that does everything a college baseball program asks of him on and off the field. He has a high ceiling offensively and I'm excited to see what kind of role he can play in our lineup during his senior season.
Head Coach Seth Wing
Peter has an electric arm and can pitch in any role within our pitching staff. He brings a fun-loving and competitive spirit on gamedays that enhances our team camaraderie. Peter can be a game changer for us and excited to see what he can accomplish this season.
