NSIC Player of the Week
#14 Destinee Bursch (G, 5-7, Jr., Chaska, Minn. / Eden Prairie HS) - Minnesota State
- Led the NSIC in scoring and field goal percentage (77.3%) last week
- Averaged 23.0 points, 4.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals
- Scored 22 points on 9-11 FG shooting (82%) in a 101-57 win over Wayne State
- Added two rebounds, five assists and a steal versus the Wildcats
- Added 24 points on 8-11 FG (73%) in a 97-75 win over Augustana
- Finished with four rebounds, four assists and four steals against the Vikings
- With win over Vikings, the Mavericks clinched the NSIC regular season title
- The 19 straight wins are a program record for MSU
- Averaging 15.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.6 steals on the season
- Named NSIC Player of the Week for the second time this season (1/15/23)
NSIC Shining 5*
Ella Gilbertson (UMD)
- Averaged 16.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over both UMD wins
- Shot 11-24 (.458) from the field, 3-9 (.333) from 3-point range, and 7-8 (.875) from the line
- Tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds for a double double performance over SMSU
Rianna Fillipi (NSU)
- Averaged 16.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in wins against Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston
- Led the NSIC in steals per game last week, averaging 5.0 per game
- Notched a career-high game of eight steals against the Beavers
- Added nine assists while shooting 50.0 % from the floor
- Tallied 14 points against Bemidji State while aiding in a team season high of 58 points in the paint and 55 rebounds
Ashley Sawicki (SCSU)
- Averaged 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in SCSU's 2-0 week
- Connected on 12-of-22 (54.5%) shots from the field
- Scored 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in a 58-45 win over UMary
- Added two blocks and recorded her fifth double-double of the season
- Posted 12 points, six rebounds, five steals and two blocks in Sunday's comeback win at Minot State
- Has blocked 2+ shots in nine games and has shot 50% or better in 12 games including the last three
Alex Dornfeld (WSU)
- Had back-to-back double-doubles in games against Augustana and Wayne State
- Averaged 14.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest
- Also notched a steal in each game.

About the NSIC
The NSIC is a 15-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders. Formed in 1992 by the merger of the Northern Intercollegiate Conference (men’s league) and the Northern Sun Conference (women’s league), the NSIC has flourished over the past quarter century, maturing into a union of Upper Midwest colleges and universities.
