NSIC Men’s Track Athlete of the Year
Braxton Bruer (Distance, Sr., West Fargo, N.D. / West Fargo HS) - MSU Moorhead
- Won third straight indoor 800m run at this year’s NSIC Championships with a time of 1:55.44
- Also earned All-NSIC honors in the DMR at the championship
- Will compete in the men's 800m run at the national
- Top time of 1:49.29 (converted from 1:50.85) is the fifth-best 800m run in Division II this season
- The 800m time ran at the Bison Open is also a MSUM indoor school record
NSIC Men’s Field Athlete of the Year
Shyrone Kemp (Jumps, Sr., Jones Town, Bahamas / Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy) - MSU Moorhead
- Earned NSIC High Point Performer at the NSIC Championships with 26 points
- Won the triple jump and the high jump and was third in the long
- His triple jump of 51-10.5 (15.81m) is second-best in Division II this season
- Has a top long jump of 24-11.75 (7.61m)
- His long jump is an indoor personal best and earned him All-NSIC distinction.
- The long jump mark is also the third-best long jump in Division II this year
- Claimed his fifth straight NSIC indoor crown in the triple jump
- Earned a spot at the NCAA Championship in both long jump and triple jump
NSIC Men’s Newcomer of the Year
Diego Andres-Dougan (Jr., Palencia, Spain) – University of Mary
- Won the 60m hurdles at the NSIC Championships
- Ran a University of Mary school record time of 7.78
- Ranks second in NCAA Division II this season with that time
- Qualified for NCAA National Championship meet
- Also placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 14.76 meters
NSIC Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year
Brian Sebera - Minnesota State
- Coaches athletes that scored 60.5 team points at the NSIC Championships
- Had nine different student-athletes scored team points
- Coached NSIC Champion in the long jump, including four All-NSIC performers
- Coaches six student-athletes that qualified for the NCAA Championships
NSIC Men’s Coach of the Year
Mike Turgeon - Minnesota State
- Led Minnesota State to its 13th straight NSIC title, the seventh during his tenure with MSU
- Coached 22 Mavericks that claimed All-NSIC honors and one relay team
- Coached four men’s conference champions this season and one relay
- Coaches 12 student-athletes that qualified for the NCAA Championships
- Named NSIC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year for the sixth time
All-Conference performers consist of the top three place winners in each event and the members of the top two relay teams from the conference meet.

About the NSIC
The NSIC is a 15-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders. Formed in 1992 by the merger of the Northern Intercollegiate Conference (men’s league) and the Northern Sun Conference (women’s league), the NSIC has flourished over the past quarter century, maturing into a union of Upper Midwest colleges and universities.
