COACHES' QUOTES & ATHLETES TO WATCH

AUGUSTANA UNIVERSITY

Augustana University is excited to welcome four new student/athletes to our team. They all arrive with outstanding high school careers. We know the freshmen will fill gaps and add to the flavor of the team with their respective personalities. Meshing the four players in with our existing team will be exciting!
Director of Golf Coralee Jorgensen
Shannon is a player that has continually improved. Her low score in an event last year was a 70 finishing with an average score of 77.4. She has a fabulous attitude and can easily keep herself in the present while playing. Her attitude, putting stroke and playing experiences make her Augustana's player to watch!
Director of Golf Coralee Jorgensen

BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY

There's a lot of new faces coming in and I'm excited to see how they come in and compete, along with the returners who look to continue their progress from last spring season. I'm looking forward to improving each day, finding ways to cut strokes individually and lowering the team score as we go! We have a similar schedule to last year so hoping some familiarity to the courses can help the team gain some confidence and find consistency scoring.
Head Coach Erica Gartner
There were a couple players who could be listed as the player to watch - Elli though stood out with the lowest average per round from the returners! She really started to find some consistency after the Christmas break last year and I'm excited to see how that progressed through the summer break. She can hit it off the tee with the best of them and uses that length to her advantage to shoot low scores. I know she has the potential to go even lower, so I'm excited to see her (along with everyone else) shoot some personal bests this season!
Head Coach Erica Gartner

CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY, ST. PAUL

This year's team brings in four talented freshman to complement our young but experienced roster. The future is bright for this group as we come together and work as a team chasing our goals.
Head Coach Peter Maki
Piper has all the tools to be the Player of the Year in the NSIC. We look forward to the pursuit, work and grit that it takes to achieve such a goal. Alongside her fellow classmate, Darby Barstad, Piper will captain our young talented roster and help guide them through our processes.
Head Coach Peter Maki

UNIVERSITY OF MARY

What excites me most about this year's team is the incredible balance we have between our experienced returning players and the fresh energy brought in by our three new freshmen. Our returning group is not only strong but also seasoned, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record that will be invaluable throughout the season. Their familiarity with our program and their competitive edge will provide a solid foundation for us.
Coach Marion Hernandez
After a standout summer, including a remarkable victory at the North Dakota Women's Golf Association Stroke Play event, Carrie is clearly in fantastic form. Her performance this summer has not only boosted her confidence but also solidified her role as the team's No. 1 golfer. Carrie's ability to stay consistent and perform under pressure is one of her key strengths. Her win at the NDWGSA Stroke Play event was a testament to her dedication and skill, and it’s evident that she’s carrying that momentum into the new season. We’re expecting her to lead the team with the same level of excellence and to continue setting a high standard for her teammates.

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA CROOKSTON

I'm extremely excited to bring back our entire roster from last year with one new addition. The team chemistry and culture that we have here is unmatched and is the best I've ever seen from any team I've ever coached. The part I'm most excited about is seeing our player leadership continue to improve from year to year from all the experience that has been gained. Overall, this team is an absolute joy to coach and I'm so excited to see them all again later this month and get started here this Fall.
Former Head Coach Bryant Friskop
Anaka has already solidified herself as the best golfer in UMC women's golf history. The jump she made from her first year to her second year was evident in everything she did from being a player to being a leader on this team. The amount of work Anaka puts in during the summer is a big part of her maturing as a player and a leader. Anaka will be a captain on this year's team and I am extremely excited to see the jump that she makes this year.

We will continue to build on the success we saw last year and use that to our advantage. We have some tremendously talented returning players along with incoming freshman that will continue to build our program and success this year.
Head Coach Alex Schmitz
Kelly had a very strong year for us last year. Earning second team all-conference and being one of our most consistent players. She brings leadership and grit to what will be a fairly young team once again.
Head Coach Alex Schmitz

MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY MOORHEAD

I'm thrilled for my second year with the program. We brought in two new local kids to replace the two juniors that graduated early from our team last year. I'm excited to see how the team progresses this season. We have a mixed group of experience & youth. We want to improve and lower our scores with hard work and determination. I'm eager to get to work with this group!
Head Coach Brock Ellingson
Halle set the 18-hole and 36-hole program record last fall at the Jewel in Lake City, Minnesota. She is working on building her consistency and we look forward to watching her progress this season.
Head Coach Brock Ellingson

MINOT STATE UNIVERSITY

We bring back our entire roster from last year that keeps showing improvement year by year over their careers, and they want to capitalize on that for one last run together. We are excited about the entire returning roster, and our incoming freshmen, and our women are very competitive and driven to compete at their highest level for the upcoming year.
Head Coach Eli Mihalick
Taylor has been steadily improving through her career at Minot State, and we are looking for her to continue that for her final year with the Beavers. She has grown as a leader and student athlete over her time here, and it has been really fun to watch her compete at this level. We are excited about the improvements in her game, and we have been building her game to get to her level of expectations and are anticipating a big year from her this year.
Head Coach Eli Mihalick

UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS

We lost only one player to graduation so our team has a lot of playing experience. Four of those are sophomores this year so I'm anxious to see how they develop this year now that they have an understanding of college golf. Plus, we have six really good golfers joining our team this season so I am excited to see how they adjust to the college game.
Head Coach Wade Merry
Maggie has been our leader on and off the golf course and is coming off a season in which she was a first-team all-conference performer and one of the best players in the NSIC.
Head Coach Wade Merry

SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY

We are excited to build off of the momentum we started last year with our team really connecting with one another and incorporating our incoming freshmen. We look for our returners to step into bigger roles on the team and have some competitive freshmen ready to contribute to our team success.
Head Coach Ross Webskowski
Dani has worked extremely hard on her golf game over her career which has allowed her to lower her scores and be more consistent. We are excited to see Dani build off of her past success and make her final season her best!
Head Coach Ross Webskowski

WAYNE STATE COLLEGE

I am really looking forward to seeing our group develop as the season progresses. We have two previous NSIC All-Conference players back in 2024, and four returners who spent much of the year in the top 5. We also have a very good incoming group. I believe we will see the incoming players bring a lot of value to our team this fall.
Head Coach Nick Swaney
Saffire has the potential to have a great year on the course. She is a tremendously hard worker, who fought injuries much of last year. I believe she is going to come out this fall playing great golf.

WINONA STATE UNIVERSITY

Senior Ellie Behring and Junior Kessa Mara started every tournament for the Warriors last season. Sophomore Maeve McDougal was very close to making top five in several tournaments' along with Celia Turner has been working really hard on her game this summer, both are expected to have great seasons. We have five incoming freshmen this season and all have a chance to contribute in a big way this season. Kelby Anderson & Megan Young both from Minnesota, Ava Pesha & Georgia Volley from Wisconsin and Kaylie Kelchen from Iowa round out one of the most talented incoming classes in our programs history. We have a very young team, however we know that we can be very competitive in the NSIC as well as the Central Region. The future is very bright for the Warriors!
Head Coach Jeff Straight
Ellie has been a very valuable team member and has been a starter in every tournament here entire college career. She helped the Warriors finish second in the past two NSIC Championships. Ellie is a great team captain who sets a great example for her teammates to follow and is always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. She has helped the Warriors create a culture that makes everyone feel welcome and inspired to continue to improve.
