NSIC Wrestler of the Week
Caleb Meunier (157 lbs., Sr., Winneconne, Wis. / Winneconne HS) – Minnesota State
- Went undefeated to win the 157 pound weight class at the Pointer Open in Stevens Point, Wis.
- Won his weight class for the second year in a row at the Pointer Open
- Went 5-0 with four wins by fall and one major decision
- In the championship match, won by fall over Cameron Johnson (Aurora) at 1:50
 
Other Top Performances
Michael Murillo (UMary)
- Dominated the 197-pound weight class at the Jimmie Open
- Kicked things off with a pinfall victory at the 1:06 mark over Wyatt Powell (MSUM) 
- Defeated Shafer Ehmke (Minot State) by a 17-2 tech fall in the semifinals
- Claimed first place after defeating Adam Cherne (North Dakota State) by an 8-0 major decision
- Is ranked #14 at 197 pounds
Gavin Turk (Minot State)
- Opened the season by winning the championship at the Jimmie Open at 174 pounds
- Went 4-0 on Sunday
- Picked up a 5-0 decision over Mason Butler of UMary,
- Added a 19-3 technical fall win over Jarrett Roos of Sioux Falls
- Posted a 13-3 major decision win over Charles Severance of UMary in the semifinals
- Bested Wyatt Elam of UMary by a 5-4 decision in the championship match
Sloan Johannsen (Northern State)
- Opened his 2025-26 season with a win in the 125-pound bracket at the Jimmie Open
- Tallied a 5-0 record with a pair of bonus point wins
- Defeated league opponents Vargas of USF (Dec 3-0), Fernandez of UJ (TF 15-0), Provost of Mary (TF 20-3), and Faircloth of Minot State (Dec 9-3)
- Capped off his day with a 10-4 title bout decision victory over Jody Tanimoto of NDSU
Chase Hanson (Southwest Minnesota State)
- Went 3-0 in the RCTC Yellowjacket Open
- Won two decisions and one tech fall
- Defeated St. Cloud State's Kale Cornell in the opening round by majority decision 10-1
- Defeated Augustana's Trayton Weiss by decision 11-5
- Finished in fourth place at the open
Gabriel Smith (St. Cloud State)
- Captured four bonus point victories on his way to the 165 title with two falls and two tech falls
- Had a pin in 1:59 against Brady Brewick of Wisconsin Eau-Claire
- Beat Jase Salin (Triton) 17-1 in the quarterfinals
- Took down Ryland Schneider (UWLC) by fall (5:00) in semifinals 
- Faced off against Aston Meister of Wisconsin-La Crosse in championship match
- Won by tech fall with a score of 20-4 to take the title
Dajun Johnson (Wisconsin- Parkside)
- Won his first bout since moving to 174lbs by an 11-6 decision over No. 14 Zeke Waltz
- No. 5 Parkside Defeated No. 13 McKendree 29-13 in their opening dual of season
