The “NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year Award” is presented to a NSIC Men's Golf student-athlete who participates at their institution for four years and is academically superior while making a positive contribution to their team and the University. The NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year award was initiated in 2021-22 to honor an outstanding senior that exemplifies the attributes of the model NSIC student-athlete.

Allen, a team captain, is a two-time All-NSIC performer and earned five first place finishes over his career. He owns a 74.5 career scoring average, including a 74.2 average this season over 21 rounds.

Allen has been named to the Dean's List seven times and has been a multiple time recipient of the NSIC Academic Team of Excellence as well as earning the NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinctions Award.  He has also been named to the College Sports Communicators at-large all district team.

In the community, Allen has volunteered at the Coyote Clinic at Avera and the Bishop Dudley House which provides essential healthcare for uninsured and homeless individuals.

"Will is the model student athlete. From being our team captain, he has set an example for the rest of our team. He constantly working, whether it be on his golf game or his studies, his dedication is second to none. If every coach had a team full of Will Allen's, they would be winning on all phases on and off the golf course," stated Head Coach Michael Krsnak.
