NSIC has 22 earn All-American status on Day 1 of NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

EMPORIA, Kan. - The NSIC had 22 student-athletes lock in All-American status after day one of the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship, being held at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas.  Of the 22 All-Americans, 12 locked in first team honors, but securing a top eight finish. 

Miranda Lauvstad earned All-American honors in the long jump event as she took second place with a jump of 6.27m (20-7). Lauvstad's second place finish in the outdoor long jump is the best finish in team history, passing Makayla Jackson's third place finish in 2022. Jordin McGee also earned All-American honors in the long jump as she took seventh place with a jump of 5.96m (19-6.75). Her finish is MSU's fifth highest finish in the outdoor long jump event. The hammer throw event saw Aubri Brown become the fourth Maverick in team history to claim All-American honors as she took sixth place with a personal best throw of 57.65m (189-1). 

Jalen McGee claimed All-American honors in the long jump event as he finished in third place with a jump of 7.59m (24-11). This is the 15th time in team history that a member of the men's track and field team has earned All-American honors in the outdoor long jump. 

The championships continue on Friday and Saturday.  

Q=qualified and will run in finals.
