Coaches' Quotes & Golfers to Watch

AUGUSTANA UNIVERSITY

The thing that excites me about the 26-27 Augustana Vikings Men's Golf Team is the combination of youth and experience. We were a young team last year with the exception of one senior in the top five, so I am expecting this team to make a big jump based on our young guy's experiences from last year. Finally, we had a strong recruiting class to the competition and looking forward to what our freshman can add to this team.
Head Coach Mike Krsnak
Henry achieved 2nd team all conference last season as a sophomore.  He is the engine of our team.  He leads with high standards on and off the course. His work ethic is second to none on the team. Example, when we are on the road he is always the first at breakfast because he has been up an hour or two studying before the round.
Head Coach Mike Krsnak

BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY

Its exciting to see him take a leadership role on the team and on the scoreboard. He has also developed into a better player each year by a minimun of 1 shot a year in scoring average.
Head Coach Ben Corbid
He is a hard working student and athlete that leads by example. His exeptional ball striking puts him in the hunt each and every day.
Head Coach Ben Corbid

CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY, ST. PAUL

We're excited to mix in some high quality transfer and freshman talent with our core group. There will be lots of competition within our group and we expect that to bring out the best in all of us. Go Bears!
Head Coach Peter Maki
We're excited to watch Josh compete this year. Our team captain has been working tirelessly over the summer and we can't wait to see him let it loose on the golf course this year.
Head Coach Peter Maki

UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN

With this being my first season with Jamestown, I am excited to get started with the team.

The left side lists team details: preseason rank 11th, 2025–26 finish 10th, head coach Ben Walker, and student-athlete Cole Campbell with his class year and stats. The Jamestown knight-on-horseback “Jimmies” logo appears along with NSIC and NCAA Division II branding on a blue background with yellow and white accents.
Cole, who also participates in cross country and track, is the textbook definition of what "student athlete" is. He is a proven leader and has coming off a great summer of tournaments.
Head Coach Ben Walker

UNIVERSITY OF MARY

What excites me most about this year's team is the level of experience we bring into the season. Our returning players have developed a competitive drive and confidence that comes from competing at a high level. We are looking forward to building on that foundation and seeing what this group can accomplish together.
Head Coach Kyle Kasitz
Quinn is coming off a strong season and has continued to put in the work to elevate his game even further. He has gained a lot of confidence over last year's success. Quinn will make a significant impact for our team, and we are looking forward to seeing what is in store for this year.
Head Coach Kyle Kasitz

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA CROOKSTON

What I am excited about this year is to see how our new guys help us. We have added four really good young men to our roster who should help our team and push our returning guys. I feel we have ten very good players on our roster so it will be fun to see them come together as a team and be successful.
Head Coach Brad Heppner
One thing I have come to know about Marc during his first two years here at the University of Minnesota Crookston is that he truly wants to get better every day. Marc is always one of the first guys in our facility working on what is needed to help himself and our team improve. I have seen Marc grow into a great competitor, I truly expect Marc to have a great senior season and be one of our leaders on and off the golf course this year.
Head Coach Brad Heppner

MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY, MANKATO

We will have a young team this year and looking for some big strides out of some of the guys that saw time in our lineup last season. We are looking forward to our freshman coming in and being able to contribute right away.
Head Coach Alex Schmitz
Karson has had very solid career so far here at Minnesota State, he averaged 73.3 last season with a low round of 67. He brings great leadership back to our roster.
Head Coach Alex Schmitz

MINOT STATE UNIVERSITY

We had a great recruiting season this year with a couple North Dakota natives who are transferring back home with some experience. That, coupled with our returners like Kasen (Rostad) and Gunther (Soltvedt), and I think Minot State is going to surprise some people this year!
Head Coach Dakota Brekhus
Max is looking forward to coming back home, which is one reason he's my player to watch. He is transferring from Chandler-Gilbert Community College and is originally from Bottineau, North Dakota, so he's looking forward to competing on home turf again. He's been out working on his game and mental fortitude all summer long with some great results. He's going to be a force on the course, and myself and the team are really looking forward to watching him this season!
Head Coach Dakota Brekhus

UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS

We finished in a tie for second last year in the NSIC Championship with a team consisting of five freshmen. All are back, as well as another from that class who missed the spring portion with a wrist injury. Plus, I brought in a class for this year that is as talented, or may be more talented than the group last year. For the first time in my six years, I have a lot of depth so qualifying just to make the traveling team is going to be really competitive. My expectations for this group are pretty high.
Head Coach Wade Merry
Charlie was as good as I expected last year, earning Newcomer of the Year and first-team all-NSIC as a freshman, as well as qualifying for the NCAA Central Region Championship. Like a lot of guys on the roster, Charlie is a "golf rat." He loves to play and practice and works really hard on his game. More importantly, Charlie is an excellent student (4.0 GPA) and a good leader on this team. I am expecting another outstanding year from him in 2026-27.
Head Coach Wade Merry

ST. CLOUD STATE UNIVERSITY

We are a new program, being able to build a program from scratch is a great way to build a foundation. We are beyond happy to be back and get going again. We are hoping to have a successful opening season.
Head Coach Trey Fessler

Cameron is a very mature player who understands his game. He will be a leader on our team and help elevate everyone around him.

WINONA STATE UNIVERSITY

I am so excited to have my first coaching year with all these great people. Winona State golf is a very united team with so much chemistry, and I can't wait to give my all to witness how these players get better every day.
