Tyler Koivisto was the individual champion at the NSIC Men's Golf Championships as he finished the tournament at three-over-par with consistent rounds of 73-73-73 for a 219 and medalist honors.  With the win, the Huskies earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Super Regional May 5-7. The 2013-14 NSIC Men's Golf Championship consisted of 72 holes, in which 36 were played Sept. 30 - Oct. 1 at Madden's Resort on Gull Lake in Brainerd, Minn. The final 18 holes were played April 12-13 at Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha, Neb.  The final 18 holes were canceled due to poor weather conditions.

Augustana's Clay Kopplin finished 10th at the NSIC Men's Golf Championship for Augustana this past weekend in Omaha, Neb. The tournament was cut short due to poor weather conditions and called off after the third round of play Saturday at the Tiburon Golf Course. Kopplin posted a his lowest round of the tournament on Saturday with a four-over-par 76, brining the Piedmont, S.D. natives total to 232 (79-77-76) for the three-round tournament, putting in 10th, the highest of any Viking in the 10-team field.
The Vikings took sixth place after three rounds of the NSIC Men's Golf Championship this past weekend at the Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha, Neb. The tournament was called off after three rounds due to poor weather conditions and St. Cloud State was declared the winner. Augustana shot an impressive 299 in the third round, brining its three-round total to 942 (327-316-299). The Vikings' 299 was the third lowest total in the third round. All Augustana golfers shot a 76 or lower in what turned out to be the final round of the tournament, highlighted by Collin Hammer's 73 in his lone round for the Vikings at the event.

Bemidji State, led by a ninth place finish from freshman Aaron Leintz, completed the weather-shortened 2013-14 NSIC Championship in eighth place. The Beavers began the spring portion of the unique 72-hole event tied for sixth place with 314-329—643 (+67), but a 304 (+16) at Tiburon Golf Course Saturday, caused BSU to slip to eighth (947/+83) before poor weather conditions in the Omaha, Neb. area prevented the Beavers from a bounce back performance on the final day of competition. Leintz finished the event with a one-over-par 73 to climb five spots on the leader board Saturday and finish the event in ninth place overall at 14-over-par (230/+14)--11 stokes out of medallist position. The championship brought and end to the Beavers' 2014 spring season.
 
Concordia-St. Paul's Adam Petterson (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) shot his third consecutive par round in the only and final round of the NSIC Championships to move into NSIC All-Tournament Team honors. His strong play also helped the team surge to a tie for second place at the championships. Petterson's 72 in the only round played at Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha, Neb. was the third best score of the third round. Petterson tied for fifth overall, playing +12 in three championship rounds.

Minnesota Crookston placed fifth at the NSIC Men's Golf Championship following the third round played Saturday at Tiburon Golf Club in Omaha, Neb. The Golden Eagles were led by Matt McClure (Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn.), who finished in seventh for the tournament. In addition, Jesse Roscoe (Jr., Big Stone City, S.D.) put together the lowest round of Saturday with a 71 and moved up 18 spots to finish tied for 13th. The fourth round of the tournament was cancelled due to weather.
UMC is currently working on a final tournament of the year, More information on the location and teams competing in the tournament will be announced as they become available.

Minnesota State finished tied for second at the 2013-14 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men's Golf Championship. The Mavericks totaled 920 strokes for the tournament's 54 holes. Junior Ross Miller, who shot rounds of 76, 70 and 76 for a three-round six-over par total of 222, claimed second place in the individual standings, three strokes off the pace of SCSU's Tyler Koivisto, who shot  219 for three rounds. MSU senior Bennett Black tied for 20th (79-82-77=238). Next action for Minnesota State is the Bobby Krig Invitational April 21 (LeSueur CC) and April 22 (Sand Creek GC).

Minot State finished seventh overall at the 2013-14 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men's Golf Championships, breaking a tie with a 301 in the third – and ultimately – final round. The event was shortened by a round due to poor weather conditions. The Beavers came into the spring season tied for sixth with two other teams and finished two strokes behind Augustana College, but moved three ahead of Bemidji State. MISU junior Kowan O'Keefe (5-10, Jr., Blind Bay, British Columbia / Salmon Arm Secondary) followed up his conference title in 2012-13 with a respectable tie for fifth this season, earning back-to-back All-NSIC honors. Senior Casey Gleich (5-9, Sr., Bismarck, N.D. / Bismarck) finished tied for 15th in the conference, while redshirt freshman Karson O'Keefe (5-11, Jr., Blind Bay, British Columbia / Salmon Arm Secondary) was tied for 17th to round out the Beavers' top 20 finishes.

Sioux Falls competed in the NSIC Golf Championships this weekend at Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha, Neb. with the final round of the four round event being cancelled on Sunday due to poor weather conditions in the Omaha area. The Cougars ended the Golf season with a 10th place finish in the conference with their combined team score of 968 (+104). Derek Dillon (Fr., Garretson, S.D./Garretson HS) was the top USF finisher as he finished in a tie for 17th overall with his three round score of 237 (+21). After finishing the fall championships with an 86 and 76, he saved his best round for last as he shot a 75 in his final round.

St. Cloud State captured its second straight NSIC title winning the 54-hole tournament posting a team score of 296-303-291-890. The Huskies final round 291 at the par 72, 7,005-yard Tiburon Golf Club in Omaha, Neb., marked the lowest team score of the tournament. St. Cloud State finished at +26, 30 strokes in front of second place teams Minnesota State University and Concordia-St. Paul. With the win, the Huskies earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Super Regional May 5-7. Koivisto was joined by teammates Devin Holmes (Sr., Ramsey, Minn.) and Charlie West (Sr., Victoria, Minn.) on the six person NSIC All-Tournament Team. Holmes and West tied for third place at seven-over-par 223. Holmes shot rounds of 74-76-73. West posted scores of 76-75-72.  Rounding out the Huskies in team scoring were Matt Bible (So., Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) and Chase Hahne (So., Ramsey, Minn.) as both players shot 73 in the final round. Koivisto joins Charlie West (2012) as the most recent Husky to earn NSIC medalist honors.

Upper Iowa shot a 319 on day one of the spring half of the NSIC Men's Golf Championships.  The team finished in ninth place with a 54-hole total of 965 (+101).  Bradly Loughren placed 12th overall with rounds of 81, 75 and 78.  Christian Archer shot a 78 in the final round  to place 29th; he improved from an 87 in round one to an 80 in round two before his 78.  Curtis Cooksley tied for 32nd with scores of 84, 82 and 81, while Hunter Voigts placed 36th with an 81, 86 and 84.  Landon Vinger played in the fall and shot 83 and 80, while Alex Tranbarger played the spring and shot an 82 in round three.
 
Winona State's Jake Olsonoski (So., Bloomington, Minn. (Jefferson) paced Winona State with a tie for seventh at the NSIC Championship. Olsonoski recorded rounds of 76-77-76 to earn the top-ten finish at the league championship. WSU finished fourth as a team, with Tyler Schmude finishing one place out of the top-ten, firing rounds of 78-81-74 to place 11th. The Warriors recorded a team score of 934 to earn their fourth-place showing.
