WOMEN'S RESULTS
Minnesota Duluth Wins NSIC Women's Cross Country Championship

Falcon Heights, Minn. – Minnesota Duluth won its second NSIC Women's Cross Country Championship in the past three years as the Bulldogs scored 54 team points after placing three runners in the top seven.  Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Breanna Colbenson, who placed fifth in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 22:39.28. The University of Mary was second with 70 points followed by Augustana with 73.

The University of Mary’s Alexis Zeis was the individual champion as she traversed the sloppy course in 21:41.67, over 30 seconds faster than her winning time at the Roy Griak Invite a few weeks ago.  Augustana’s Leah Seivert was second (22:13.67) followed by defending NSIC champion from Northern State Sasha Hovind (22:19.31).  SMSU’s junior college transfer Hannah Palmeter was fourth with a time of 22:36.94.  Palmeter was named NSIC Newcomer of the Year as she was the top finisher competing in her first year of NSIC competition.

UMD’s Emilee Trost was sixth (22:43.03) while teammate Hannah Olson was seventh (22:43.84) as UMD remains perfect on the season, finishing first at each event that have competed at. UMD's Joanna Warmington was voted by her peers as NSIC Coach of the Year. 

The top ten finishers are named All-NSIC First Team while finishers 11-20 earn All-NSIC Second Team honors.

MEN'S RESULTS
Falcon Heights, Minn. - Augustana won its seventh straight NSIC Men's Cross Country Championship as the Vikings scored 46 teams points after placing three runners in the top four.  Leading the way for the Vikings was Glen Ellingson, who finished first overall in the 8,000-meter race with a time of 25:49.9.  The University of Sioux Falls finished second with 67 points while MSU Moorhead was third with 81 points.

Augustana’s Keegan Carda was second with a time of 25.57.2, just seven seconds behind his teammate.  U-Mary’s Chris Jessop finished at 26:05.5, edging Augie’s Harald Karbo by one-tenth of a second to take third place. 

The Vikings Nick Larsen and Logan Burns finished 19th and 20th in the race as five Augustana runners earned all-conference honors.  The Vikings' Head Coach Tracy Hellman was voted by his peers as the NSIC Coach of Year for the seventh straight season.

MSU Moorheads Josh Young was named NSIC Newcomer of the Year after his eight place finish. He was the top finisher competing in their first year of NSIC competition.

Next action for NSIC Cross Country will be at the NCAA Regional on Saturday, November 7 at Tom Rutledge CC Course in Joplin, Missouri. The NCAA DII National Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 21 also in Joplin.
