Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference

Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Commissioner Erin Lind announced the hiring of Andy Sailer as NSIC Assistant Commissioner for External Relations/Marketing in October of 2019.  Sailer officially began his duties on November 8 of the NSIC Office.

Sailer will focus on external relations and marketing of the conference, including working with various NSIC stakeholders. The position will be the liaison from the Commissioner’s Office in support of the conference development directors.  He will also have direct oversite of select NSIC Championships.

Sailer spent two years with St. Cloud State University as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions. There he assisted with development, organization implantation and oversight for all athletic and sport specific marketing plans.  He coordinated planning of event management and work collaboratively with ticketing and campus and community organizations to increase event attendance and ticket revenue through promotions.  He also worked with game day marketing, in-game promotions, social media and game day scripts as well as video board productions and webcasting.

Prior to SCSU, Sailer spent two years with Rasmussen College as an Admissions Program Manager. Sailer also spent one year at Bemidji State University in their Athletic Media Relations office as their Assistant Director in 2014-15. Before BSU, Sailer spent two years as a graduate assistant on the St. Cloud State University media relations staff.

A 2012 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Sailer spent four years as a student assistant in the Eagles’ sports information office. At UW-La Crosse, he was responsible for assisting the director with the day-to-day operations of the office, providing website and publication content and collecting statistics for seven varsity sports.

In addition to his intercollegiate athletic experience, Sailer worked for the St. Cloud Rox baseball team as a Media Relations Intern during the 2013 Northwoods League season. He assisted the club by producing game day publications, press releases, coordinating media interviews and photography, while assisting with ticket sales and the fulfillment of sponsorship agreements.

Sailer, a native of Elmwood, Wisconsin, graduated from SCSU in 2014 with a Master of Science degree in sport administration. Sailer resides in Minneapolis, Minn.
