Nick Kornder has served as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations since July 2006. In this role, he oversees all conference media operations and college sports communications, including statistical reporting, media guide and publication development, website management, and the production and co-hosting of the NSIC Spotlight. Kornder also produced the Northern Sun Showcase television program from 2006 to 2013.

Kornder has held numerous leadership roles at the regional and national levels. He served as the Daktronics Super Region 3 Football Regional Coordinator from 2009 to 2014 and was elected to the DII Sports Information Directors Association (DII-SIDA) Board of Directors in 2013. He later completed a two-year term as President of the DII Conference Information Directors Association. Kornder has also served as a national media coordinator for multiple NCAA Division II championship events, including the Women’s Basketball Elite Eight (2014, 2015, 2018), the 2016 Wrestling Championships, the 2017, 2024 & 2025 Volleyball Championships, and the 2018 Men’s Basketball Championship. In addition, he served on the NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Regional Advisory Committee in 2024 and 2025.

A native of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, Kornder joined the NSIC following two years as the Media Relations Director at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Prior to that, he served as Sports Information Director at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Kornder earned his degree in Sports Recreation Management from UMC in 2001, where he was also a starting middle linebacker for the Golden Eagles.

Kornder resides in Lakeville, Minnesota, with his wife Annie, son Henry, and daughters Josie and Maddie.
