Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference

Michelle Beck was hired in July 2014 as the new NSIC Assistant Commissioner for External Relations/Marketing. Her focus will be on external relations and marketing of the conference, including work with various NSIC stakeholders. She will be the liaison from the Commissioner’s Office in support of the conference development directors, and game management staff. Her responsiblities will include assisting with NSIC Championships and Events, as well as assisting with the marketing and community engagement programs in the league while incorporating the use of social media platforms

Beck joins the NSIC after working as the Minnesota State University, Mankato Director of Marketing and Special Events during the 2013-14 academic year.  The year prior, Beck served as the interim director of special events and annual giving at MSU.  During that time she organized and execute multi marketing and fundraising events for the Mavericks. In 2012 Beck worked at Drake University as the assistant director of marketing where she developed and implemented marketing plans, event scripting, promotional plans and advertising. Beck served as a MSU marketing and promotion graduate assistant from 2010 to 2012 as she earned a Master of Arts in sports management.  Beck earned a Bachelor of Science in sports management from MSU in 2010.  Michelle and her husband, Kelly have a daughter, Peyton and reside in Prior Lake, Minn.
