Jeremy Christoffels was named the NSIC Assistant Commissioner for Compliance on June 7, 2017. He officially began his duties in the league office on June 26.
Christoffels focuses on all areas of NCAA Division II Compliance, including membership interpretations and infractions, the National Letter of Intent Program, and the Coaches Certification Test.
Christoffels came to the NSIC from the University of Mary, where he handled the daily compliance functions for the 17 Marauders athletic programs and 400 student-athletes. He also served as a gameday administrator, among other duties. To streamline processes and reduce paper usage, Christoffels automated much of the school’s compliance reporting for coaches and teams using Front Rush.. Christoffels joined the UMary staff after two seasons as the athletic compliance coordinator at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Christoffels began his stint in compliance at MSU in September 2014. During his time with the Mavericks, he served over three months as the interim athletic compliance director for the Mavericks this past year. As interim director, Christoffels implemented several new policies regarding male practice players, medical non-counters, and various student-athlete employment procedures.
At Minnesota State Christoffels oversaw over 500 student-athletes from 11 countries across 20 sports in both NCAA Division I and II and helped monitor an athletic scholarship plan in excess of $2 million. He assisted in the implementation of MSU’s first-ever compliance manual and coordinated rules education sessions for all coaches and staff.
Additionally Christoffels was an Athletic Communications graduate intern for the Mavericks, where he was the contact for the men’s and women’s track & field programs, coordinated media coverage for the 2015 NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by MSU, and covered the Mavericks at the 2014 NCAA Division II football national championship game. He also was a press assistant at the 2015 NCAA Division II women’s national basketball championship.
Christoffels joined the Sanford Pentagon in event operation in 2013, where he managed all facets of junior volleyball tournaments and was a guest services specialist for Sioux Falls Skyforce NBA-D League home games.
An intern for the Sioux Falls Pheasants during the 2011 season, Christoffels implemented all game day promotions, directed guest services and assisted the ground crew for the American Association franchise.
A native of Chandler, Minnesota, Christoffels graduated from MSU with a bachelor’s degree in sports management in 2012 and a master’s degree in sports management in 2016.
