Tiebreaker: Minnesota State earned the number one seed via tie-breaker over Minnesota Duluth. The Mavericks and Bulldogs split head-to-head games during the regular season; the highest ranking common opponent in the league standings between MSU and UMD was Augustana. The Mavericks earned the number one seed as they split the series with the Vikings while the Bulldogs were swept by Augie.
Augustana and Wayne State tied for sixth in the final standings, but the Vikings earned the sixth seed via their season split with Minnesota State. The Wildcats were swept by the Mavericks.
The 2013 NSIC Softball Tournament Champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Softball Central Regional played May 10-12 followed by the NCAA Super Regionals on May 18-19, on a campus to be determined. The NCAA Finals are set for May 23-27, 2013 at Moyer Complex in Salem, Va.
