* NCAA Tie-breaker: Tie in team scoring shall be broken by comparing the place finish of the five scoring members of the tied teams. The team with the majority of winning places shall be awarded the higher place. Augustana's first finisher, second finisher and fifth finisher had higher place finishers than UMD first, second and fifth finisher. Giving them the majority and the tiebreaker.
Augie Men Win Sixth Straight NSIC/US Bank Cross Country Championship
Augustana won its sixth straight NSIC / US Bank Men's Cross Country Championship as the Vikings scored 22 teams points after placing five runners in the top seven. Leading the way for the Vikings was Harald Karbo, who placed second overall in the 8,000-meter race with a time of 25:15.23.
Sioux Falls' Robert Brockmueller became the school's first-ever individual NSIC cross country champion as he led the Cougars to a second place finish. He traversed the course in 25:11.17 to take the 8K title. Junior Matt Horan was fifth (25:20.06) while senior Billy Brockmueller was ninth (25:34.12) for the Cougars. (

Augie Women Win NSIC/US Bank Cross Country Championship
Augustana regained their spot at the top of the conference as they won their sixth NSIC/US Bank Women's Cross Country Team Championship in the past seven seasons. The Vikings and Minnesota Duluth tied for first in the women's team standings, but an NCAA tie-breaker gave the Vikings the title. The Vikings' first finisher, second finisher and fifth finisher had higher place finishers than UMD first, second and fifth finisher, giving the Vikings the majority and the tiebreaker.
Northern State's Sasha Hovind (21:19.75), MSU Moorhead's Molly Montonye (21:25.33) and Augustana's Annie Kruse (21:26.00) took the top three overall individual spots. The freshman Kruse, was also named the NSIC's Newcomer of the Year as she was the top finisher competing in her first year of NSIC competition.
Hovind became the Wolves' first individual champion at the NSIC Cross Country Championships since Stephanie Hengel in 1988, as she lead NSU to a sixth-place finish as a team. (
