Sioux Falls, S.D. – The 16-team NSIC / Sanford Health Men’s & Women's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Championships are set to take place Sat.-Tues., Feb. 24 to Feb. 27 at the Sanford Health Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. First round games will be played Wednesday, Feb. 21 on the campus. Men's quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, Feb. 24 while women's quarterfinals will be played Sunday, Feb. 25.

NSIC Basketball Tournament Seeding Tie-Breakers
The tie-breaking criteria for seeding into the NSIC/ Sanford Post- Season Tournament will be as follows.
1. Head to head
2. Use the divisional won/loss percentage
3. Head to head competition of descending divisional teams (won/ loss record against teams who finished highest in standings)
4. Point rating system – divisional games only

5 Win at home >=.500 Win on road >=.250
4 Win at home >=.250 Win on road <=.250
3 Win at home <=.250 Loss at home >=.750 Loss on road >=.750

5. Head to head competition of descending teams using NSIC overall standings (won/loss record against teams who finished highest in standings)

New in 2018...The bracket will continue to be seeded North/South as it has been in recent years. However, hosting rights for the first round of the NSIC Basketball Championship will go to the team with the best overall conference record. If there is a tie in overall record, the game will be hosted by the higher (better) seed unless the lower (worse) seeded team beat the higher seeded team on the road during the regular season.
