MINNETONKA, Minn. – Augustana (24-1) rolled to its sixth straight NSIC Women's Tennis Tournament Championship as it knocked off second seeded Upper Iowa 5-0 Sunday afternoon at Lifetime Fitness in Minnetonka, Minnesota.  Augustana, which won its seventh straight NSIC regular season championship, won all three of its tournament matches by 5-0 scores. 

Sydney Postal and Berkley Darr got the Vikings on the board first with an 8-2 victory over Kelly Jachymowski and Anna Okolot in No. 2 doubles.

Meredith Lawrence and Kaitlyn Motley remained undefeated in doubles play with an 8-0 win over Jemina Lynn Sorman and Yulia Prokopyshyn in No. 3 doubles. Kornelia Staniszewska and Jessa Richards completed the sweep with an 8-5 victory over Saki Kawabata and Isabella Sella in No. 1 doubles.

In singles play, Meredith Lawrence improved to a perfect 21-0 on the year with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Yulia Prokopyshyn in No. 6 singles. Sydney Postal capped off the perfect weekend for the Vikings with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Kelly Jachymowski in No. 3 singles.

With the outcome of the match already decided Kornelia Staniszewska, Jessa Richards, Berkley Darrand Christine Olivo matches remained unfinished.

Augustana has now won 16 straight NSIC Tournament matches and 77 straight regular season conference matches.

Augustana earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament will take place on campuses on May 7-10. The NCAA DII Championships (Final 16) will take place on May 18-21 in Denver, Colorado. The NCAA women’s tennis selections will be announced on Tuesday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. (CT) at www.NCAA.com.
